Thanks and yea kayaks were all over the place. I put in at 5:45 a.m and had caught 6 fish over 16 inches by 11:00 a.m. After that they must have taken a mid day nap because I didn't catch another one until after 1:00.

Nice fish! Saw a lot of the kayakers driving past to the tourney. I was wade fly fishing below McCoy off and on this weekend. Got a lot of nice size fish up to 16". Did see two smallmouth over 20" and a 40" muskie. All had lockjaw
If I remember the one you are referring to correctly, I run it far left in my Jackson Cuda 12. Never had an issue. Point it, and paddle.
It's any projectile under FL law. Rocks, BB, water ballon, sandwhich. ANYTHING that a lawyer argues could cause harm.

Topwater is on in the New River. Had a ton of awesome blowups on the Rich Creek to Glen Lyn float. It is crazy how hard 12-14 inch fish crush a bait on top. I have been using torpedos and whopper ploppers with great success.
Fishing has been good the past few weeks overall on the New, my wife caught a smallie just under 5 lbs right under the 730 bridge.
I do have one question to anyone who has run the Eggleston-Pembroke float - how do you run the last rapid? I kept getting stuck on rocks in my 14 self bailer. Granted, the water was a little under summer levels.

I got on the water yesterday at 1:45 and did well till about 6:00. Friday was not as good, slightly off color and the clouds were out. I always seem to do better in straight sun with the smallies
