Millie Bobby Brown who plays Eleven has a pretty interested write up on imdb. Basically was told she had talent that couldn't be taught, her family moved to Hollywood and she was immediately cast.

Millie Brown was born in Spain, to British parents. They moved to Orlando, Florida in 2011, where Millie went to acting workshops to pass the time on a Saturday, and it was there that a top Hollywood talent scout called and told Millie's parents that "she has instincts you cannot teach." She advised Millie's parents that Millie could "mix it with the best kids in Hollywood." They packed up and drove from Orlando to Los Angeles, and within a week, Millie was meeting with the town's top children's talent agencies. She was offered representation by all the agents that she met. Within three months of being in Hollywood, Millie was offered the role of young Alice in ABC's Once Upon a Time in Wonderland. In November 2013, after just one self-taped audition, and without meeting the producers/directors, Millie was offered the role of Madison O'Donnell in BBC America's show, "Intruders."

Mike, Dustin and Nancy were all amazingly acted by child actors as well. The others were also very good.

As far as adults, Winona Ryder and David Harbour were fantastic. Ryder in particular. It would be very easy to overact that role but she rides that line of being an believable crazy person extremely well. Her distraught mother should be taught in acting classes.

Truly incredible. All the kids were great, loved Mike. But Elle's acting was something else, the amount that she was able to express without words was otherworldly for her age. Her character has some heart wrenching moments with just a handful of words, sometimes just one "promise".

It sucks waiting a year for these new shows to come out. I'm not sure it's been officially confirmed, but Netflix almost always gets a season 2 and this show is getting absolutely rave reviews.

Blackjack basic strategy is probably the best way to minimize the house's advantage, with the possible exception of playing really boring craps. Most places these days offer "true odds" bets on the craps table where you can, after the come-out roll, place an additional bet behind your pass or don't pass bet. The odds bet can usually be up to 10x your initial bet and it's probably the only bet in the place where you aren't at a disadvantage. If you do nothing but place a table minimum bet on Pass or Don't Pass and always back it up with the maximum allowable odds bet, you can reduce the house advantage to nearly zero. It's not terribly exciting, but it does shift the odds toward your favor a bit.

Is this show appropriate for a 3 and 6 year old?

NO. Not even remotely. In fact I would say it would give them nightmares. But for adults it is incredible.

If you ever read the book Play Their Hearts Out you'd be amazed at how early kids start getting evaluated and offers from colleges. There's a story out there somewhere about Matt Carlino (former Buzz player) getting an offer from Lute Olsen when he was in 3rd grade

The only holdovers on defense are Bud and Wiley whose recruiting everyone and their mothers have been complaining about probably since they got here. Though to be fair thats really not how recruiting works. You don't just go recruiting your position group, you go recruiting an area and then once the area recruiter gets traction you bring in the position coach to try and seal the deal. And while I honestly haven't followed it super closely this year it seems to me we never got traction with a lot of elite kids, for whatever reason. I don't know what the regional assignments are other than Zohn in the 757. And I think he wasn't a very good hire and that we could have done better but Fuente needed someone who could at least make the intros/connections for him and provide a familiar face, similar to Haggins at UVA. Wouldn't stun me if he's not around next year.

I still think next year will be more telling of what this staff will be able to do in recruiting, a year into relationships and evals with kids and with results on the field to point to. I also sometimes think coaches coming up from midmajor schools have a tough time managing when to accept commits early on because its a different style. For non-power 5 you want to accept as many kids as you think can play early on and then hold on late when power 5 schools that missed on top targets move down their board, whereas now Fuente could afford to slow-play some of the more marginal kids and chase after the bigger fish. I think the UF coach has struggled a bit with this too

Through his own evaluation, Fuente is offering and actively recruiting most of the top prospects by star rank in Virginia (for example in 2017). There have been a few offers questioned by the recruitnik community (Kalil Pimpleton, Malik Willis) based on stars/other P5 offers, but those recruits have gotten a bump in rankings after camp performances (Pimpleton) or more P5 offers/interest (Willis).

Long story short, it doesn't seem like Fuente has an issue identifying talent. Landing top targets (who more often than not correlate to highly ranked recruits), has eluded Fuente very early in his tenure.

I don't know how I feel about recruiting anymore. I will just trust Fuente/Cornelsen, Foster, and Shibest can get the most out of their units be it offense, defense, or special teams. I just think that winning isn't going to guarantee us the top instate recruits.

All of them were actively recruited by the current staff regardless of when their offers originated.

Browser sucks at work, but tejada Mitchell, ricky slade, asiedu, pope, spalding, artis all may be in the top 10. There are some more with offers, but you'll have to look up the top 10 on other sites.
