Yep. I just read "basic strategy" as somewhere between "I know the best general strategy" and "I know how the play Blackjack." Even the basic strategy is still probably your best bet on how to lose the least amount of money, I'd wager.

LeBron claims that his kids started getting offers when they were around 10, so I guess there isn't a rule on when you can start offering.

It's historically true because of the responsibilities of the position. Unless he's 260+, a 6'5" mike is getting blocked out of every play with simple leverage. And, barring some kind of herculean once in a lifetime talent, he won't have the change of direction needed to fill gaps and get to the ball carrier between the tackles.
If you've seen reporting that suggest Edmunds is being seriously evaluated as a Mike then I'd love to read it. If true, he's either got Urlacher talent or it's another example of just how lean the roster has become.
I have only binge-watched one series, Newsroom, and I loved it. Wish they had done more.

Offers to kids after their sophomore year of HS? Even I could have benefitted from that (soph was my best), but I guess if he stinks it up or breaks a leg in the next two years, the college can always retract the offer. Kinda nuts projecting recruits this far in advance - what rules are there on how early on teams can recruit players? Seems like there has to be something on the books, but then you hear about these disturbing stories of a college offering a 7th grader.

You can't reasonably believe an offer over twitter is legit.
It is a really rare combo. Every time I read about big Tim or see a video of him I immediately think of Vince Wilfork. I hope big Tim continues to work hard so he can reach his full potential. He seems like a guy who gets his teammates energized.
On a side note if you did not read the ESPN interview with Vince Wilfork about the body issue, I highly recommend it. I hate ESPN but it was a really interesting interview.

I misread the headline as: "MASSIVE DEFENSIVE TACKLE TIM SETTLE SHOWS OFF HIS HEELS" As in high heels. I was really confused why everyone was excited until I figured out my mistake.
I think I may have finally found the phenomenon that briefly caught my attention, while watching the weather channel. All I remember is seeing a graphic of two levels of the atmosphere, one high, one low, and rounding the earth at different speeds. And when the "orbits" aligned briefly, it was trouble.
