I PCS-ed to Korea in February and was rocking a VT hat during the flight. I get off the plane in Incheon and start walking towards the shuttle and get stopped by someone in the middle of the airport mentioning you can't go anywhere without running into a Hokie. That chance encounter, 7-11 in the airport, and many other American businesses made my girls and I feel at home in this completely different and unique atmosphere.
Side note, if you get the chance you should go to Korea. It's amazing over here!

To be fair if their strength and conditioning program is anything worth while, he will probably put on about 20-30 pounds. That is still a big 17 old kid.
Their OL recruit is only 6'4" and 260 pounds? Tim Settle might be charged with capital murder when he plows right through him.

I know Leicester was an awesome story, but the passion of the fans and size of the country make Iceland surreal. They have been getting progressively better over the years, but this is a country with 200k fewer people than Wyoming.
Leicester is the sports story of the year for me too, or at least the soccer story of the year.
I get the media darlings that Iceland have turned into, but this isn't a random get good overnight thing. They've been brewing now for a few years. IIRC, they missed out on the World Cup in the playoffs and then got through a difficult group in Euro Qualifying that included the Netherlands. No one knows of these players cause they don't following the Scandinavian leagues, but it's quality football. There isn't star power, but it's better than MLS, so it's not like Iceland are a bunch of minnows running around.
Has Bronco used the Beamer line "we'll take ours and play against theirs" yet?

It's a great story, but not even the best in the sport. Leicester winning the EPL is the best story, in my opinion.
Outside of Gylfi Sigurdsson, Iceland's team IS a bunch of nobodies. Even Northern Ireland has a squad playing at more glamorous clubs than Iceland, which I guess makes Iceland's achievement that much more remarkable.
Now, if they beat France, then this truly is the worldwide sports story of the year in a year full of them. Count on Woy to be the kingmaker, what a useless muppet he is.

I still can't forget how devastated I was after that missed FG vs NC State in '04. I was in the corner of upper South and it looked good from where I was... and then no. No it wasn't.
I want a fantastic season and I want it now. We only have so much time left if they want me to be there to root.
Most of their good recruits suck, so most of their under-the-radar guys will probably suck too
I think that the first few seasons required the show to spend a lot of time on world building, so the plots seemed to move a bit more slowly. Now, the world is pretty much built so most of the time can be devoted to plot.
Is it just me or did this season just completely fly by?
I wonder if part of it is the simple fact that the showrunners are now unbound by GRRM's plotting. Great detail, moves too slowly in a number of ways.
At any rate, the finale ultimately was one of the most entertaining hour+ of television I can remember, and a thoroughly satisfying way to wrap up a number of items. Already sad that right now is the longest possible point until the next season
What did I learn this year...
TKP was pretty impressive with our predictions all year long. I think someone made a convincing argument for every single major plot point and twist along the way, so well done everyone!
The pessimist in me expects us to barely get to 6 regular season wins and play in a no name bowl, because that's become the norm recently. But really in looking back at the last 3 years, only 5 of our 17(yikes) losses were by more than 7 points. If we can flip half of those one possession losses to wins this year, i'd be cool with getting 8 wins. I'd be even more satisfied if 1 of those 8 is against UT or ND.
I will hold judgement on these individuals until I see them on the field. Until then, I will despise them unconditionally.
I was at the Greenbrier today cleaning up. Creeks exist now that did not exist before Thursday. Cars from the town of White Sulphur ended up floating onto the golf courses. Houses are hanging over edges into the creek from the ground decaying. I was surprised when I heard the news, until I saw the damage. It's an absolute mess!
