5 wins and the end of the bowl streak? I would be quite unhappy with that, regardless of coaching changes. Fuente has a pretty well stocked cupboard and I'm not reducing expectations down to UVA levels.

money is definitely on ricky slade being the #1 prospect for '18.

watched pope's hudl. great frame, athleticism and love how aggressive he plays but he's definitely very raw. Wonder if he won't grow into a DE or TE.

this week's episode was one of my favorites. the scenes with the hound alone made it better than the previous weeks.

Valencia looked frightening in the open field. Not sure we have anyone without a redcard suspension with the pace he has. I kinda hope we pack it in and bang on him for the first 20-30 minutes. I'd love to see our midfield control possession, but with the current starters I don't think that is possible to start the game... just won't be able to withstand the pressure. Hopefully if we can withstand the first half hour we can have already counterattacked or can start to normalize possession with a not so menacing Valencia. Jurgen seems to be building our boys up with a lets play like a favorite talk. Mebbe next game?

1. Seems clear that they are suggesting the Hound has some connection to the Lord of Light and a central role to play in the fight against the White Walkers. Or that could be a setup.

2. I think that Jaqen H'ghar never intended for Arya to be a disciple of the Faceless Man. She may say "a girl is Arya Stark" but she is also now "no one", in that she has been taught how to be anyone or no one to get what she wants. And when they first met Arya was all about her list. Jaqen has now given a girl named Arya Stark the means to fulfill her list by being whatever she needs to be.

3. Very interested to see how this goes down in the book, but probably the intention is to cut Sansa's resources off so that she must rely on Little Finger. Who will come save the day and get back into the mix of the Game of Thrones as a main character right up until the end.

Not sure why your so dissatisfied though.

As I mentioned in a post above, there are only so many actual White Walkers, and a group of skilled fighters with Valyrian steel could pose a problem for the Walkers themselves.

We now have multiple Valyrian swords headed back North (assuming Sam heads back that way), as well as people skilled enough to use them effectively, like one Mr. Sandor Clegane

The USMNT wins their group after losing their opening round match b/c Colombia gets a case of the stupids vs the Ticos, and then Ecuador and Peru advance over Brazil by one of the most blatant handballs I have ever seen. So delightfully unpredictable! Love seeing the mighty stumble and the downtrodden ascend. Now somebody just needs to knock off Argentina and it's anybody's cup to steal.

I actually really, really like this week's episode. But to answer your questions:

1 why bring the hound back to set him up with the impotent BwoB?

The foreshadowing seemed to imply that he would have a role in the war against the white walkers.

2 what did Arya get, exactly, out of Braavos?

No idea. Obviously training, not sure what else. At this point, I am convinced that every scene/story line/subplot is there for reason. We are finally starting to see some of the stories weave together, and we can also project how others will eventually come together.

3 the seige of Riverrun was just used to get a Brienne/Jaime scene, wasn't it? Oh, a Bronn/Pod scene.

I think the Brienne/Jaime relationship will be revisited at least once if not multiple times down the road. At the very least, they have a mutual respect for one another, perhaps a slight love interest. Also worth noting that Brienne has one of 10 swords that can kill a white walker. My guess is that somewhere down the line, Jaime sacrifices his life for Brienne (maybe in the war against the white walkers). Whatever the case, I'm convinced that their relationship will be relevant at some pivotal point.

My assumption is that Bran's vision of the wild fire in king's landing was a vision into the future.

Dude, we're so damn spoiled...

TRUST (noun) an unhealthy reliability of the Hokies to force one phase of their team (Defense) to both shutdown and outscore the other team (minimal help can be obtained for scoring from the Special Teams and Punt-Waiting, although the points scored on Punt-Waiting must come on the exceptional efforts of freakish athletes or on broken plays only, as the only stated purpose of Punt-Waiting is "Ball Control")

BALL CONTROL (noun) one man's job security. When applied directly to the forehead, may last for up to two decades

ARR-FENSE (noun) some fuckin' mythical unicorn/fifth-element shit, I dunno. We just got a truckload of it. Perhaps treated best like a shiny new firecracker; light the fuse, stand back... See what it does

Wondo in an opening game of the elimination round... what's the worst that could happen...

Oh, right...

Ramsay is gonna die and I wouldnt be surprised if the hound died killing the mountain. We have checked two names off already. Knock off cersei maybe?

Id be ok with this. Thats kind of what I had in mind...also hahahaha Brazil pulled an England

Peru needs to win to guarantee advancement. If they draw, Ecuador could knock them out with a strong win over Haiti. If they lose, they need Haiti to win or draw. Given how Haiti has fared in their first two games, I fully expect Ecuador to have 5 points and the edge in goal differential at the end of the day. Brasil and Ecuador are most likely to advance.

Me? I'm rooting for wins by Peru and Ecuador so Brazil has to drag themselves home with tail between legs. Somemenjustwanttoseetheworldburn.gif

EDIT: WOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! Sure, it was on a uncalled handball, but after getting a pass on mauling Peru in the box all game, we can call that karma.

Two straight unfulfilling episodes.

1 why bring the hound back to set him up with the impotent BwoB?

2 what did Arya get, exactly, out of Braavos?

3 the seige of Riverrun was just used to get a Brienne/Jaime scene, wasn't it? Oh, a Bronn/Pod scene.

Ok, we get the Bastards next week. Littlefinger will show up to fight for the Boltons. Sigh
