Scheduled ECU games won't be dropped unless there is some overall move by the Power 5 schools to only schedule Power 5 schools. And I don't see that happening any time soon.

Side note, I'd like to understand what the barometer is like:

Does this measure up to the level of vileness that was shown at PSU?

In other words, does the abuse that was uncovered at PSU and the abuse that has been uncovered at Baylor measure on the same scale? They're different, but kinda the same... ?

I'm soliciting opinions. Fire away

I don't read the books or know a whole lot beyond the scope of the show so I had to google the Manderlys. Turns out, their emblem is a merman and some of their soldiers use tridents. I hope they join the Bastard Bowl if only to see lots of:

Also, my money is on Ramsay getting a taste of his own medicine and being flayed.

One other very interesting note. In the episode when Bran asks the Children why they created the White Walkers, she says it was to defend themselves.

When he follows up with who they needed to defend themselves from, she first answers "From you." And then she corrects herself and says 'From Men."

Wouldn't that be interesting if the first answer was not a slip of the tongue or generalization. Certainly could fit into this theory of All Brans are One Bran

I do have one ticket that I reserved that a friend wants me to sell. One might POSSIBLY be opening up in the next few weeks. They're both together. I'll keep you posted.

Reading this report puts football in perspective. If something like this happened at our program I would be sick to my stomach. It would take years of the program demonstrating straight and narrow to get me back to loving VT football. We all know there is a shady side to college football, but this is horrific stuff and so sad for the victims.

But... but Nike ALWAYS underpays because of their power....

Seriously, that quote pissed me off. Just own up to signing a bad deal. UVa is getting twice the money from Nike that we do. Twice. And their deal doesn't even cover all sports, because arguably their most successful sport, baseball, is covered by Rawlings.

ESPN was showing them during the 1:00 hour. 1 absolutely crazy, 2-3 in "don't press send variety".

There was a comment that this is a showcase in order to try to secure the next (2026?) World Cup.
Which makes sense...why (attempt) to build all new stadiums, to have them either unfinished by the deadline or used only a handful of times when we have everything (practically) in place now. 2022 in Qatar is going to be a mess. As was 2014 in Brazil.

It's not like it was 50 years ago when the Olympics and Worlds Fair was a big deal to the city hosting it. Let's not build something for a limited use and utilize what it already existing. And let's be honest, 99.99% of the people that will view the World Cup will do so via tv anyway, not in the stands.

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love soccer. I've played since I was 4 and love everything about it. But it just feels wrong to me that the 100th anniversary is here instead of in South America. The atmosphere just won't be the same.

As for predictions, I'd have to go with Argentina. They are probably coming towards the end of the Messi-era for winning big tournaments and just for him I'd love to see him go out with a Copa and WC, otherwise we get the idiots doubting his greatness when he is probably better than Maradona by a lot (arguably better than Pele too).

I can't wait for the Euro too.

Which brings up more questions: Are we losing 757 recruits at a greater rate to Research Tri schools than they lose to us? Does the state of NC have recruits that are equivalent to recruits in the 757? Is Tech on pace to have lower ranked recruiting classes than Research Tri schools?

a.) Roadwork is slow. Looks like 10 years before it's even put on the plans.
b.) Looks like most of the route is using existing roads, many of which are already interstate-ready. And the bulk of the new construction would be VDOT's responsibility.

Well.... we're already losing recruits to UNC, Duke, and NCSU before this highway is built. And now, it'll be a quicker and easier trip to get to the Triangle than Tech.... so.... Yeah, I'd say it'll hurt

Are you insinuating that 757 recruits for football would rather go to an institution in Research Tri vs Tech? So UNC, NCSU, ECU, WFU & Duke > Tech in football?? This is interesting.

If you photoshop it and copy it repeatedly, they'll get there eventually.

I believe its spelled "pedo"gree up there

Speaking of the 757, the US DOT just gave NC & Va permission today to create Interstate 87, linking Raleigh, NC to Norfolk, Va....

So... that won't make recruiting any easier for Tech

Don't worry, Penn St will come offering Briles soon enough. He seems to have the kind of pedigree they like in State College.
