Just to be clear, he decommitted from Miami before he committed to Tech. It wasn't a flip. He committed to Miami's old staff.
Just to clarify: the paper this is from is the Greensboro News & Record.
I actually realized after seeing his "helmet off" photo that I know this kid from random interactions in the community. Seen him around a few times, and the couple of times that I've noticed, he's shown a really positive personality. I don't really follow local football so I had no idea he was a star on the field.
Nice, if Foster rekindles his fire that seems to have diminished a bit over the last few years we should have a highly motivated team...
Stealing recruiticorns from another ACC team is always a good thing, especially in their home state!

Only if you think that Steph would still have developed into the player he is without the chip on his shoulder, drive, and motivation that he gained from everyone passing on him. I, like others have posted, firmly believe that being over-looked by all major schools made Steph who he is.
Were there any head-to-heads in the Championships? (edit: in reference to the Iowa controversy)
Were we wrong to not offer Steph Curry a scholarship? No. It was the prevailing sentiment on the kid at the time, by both recruitniks and head coaches. But, as his father's alma mater, we are going to hear about it more than any other program that didn't offer. It is what it is. It gets you exactly as upset as you let it.
I'm sure he'll move beyond all these negative stereotypes and form his own identity.

Here's another article about the sponsorship, from Richmond BizSense. A lot of it is the same information, but one particular portion caught my eye:
Union strikes a diamond deal with the Hokies
The school is also reworking its main entrance into campus off Route 460, which will divert most of the traffic coming in and out of the school right passed Union Park.
That part of the plan also helped seal the deal for Union, Cimino said.
"To be right there as one of the first things you see when you come into Virginia Tech was very appealing to us," Cimino said.
"he reminds me of Dany Coale, Willie Byrn, Wes Welker" comment
Maybe its just me, but I see him as more of a Danny Amendola/Julian Edelman.
Theys aint.
Grasssssssssssss...tastes bad!
It's worked pretty well for Saban at Alabama.
I was going to post the exact same thing. Has respect for the old S&C crew but knew this new life in the gym was desperately needed.

Sam chose not to call his bluff.

Ain't they?
I've only heard comparisons to Calvin Johnson, Larry Fitzgerald, and Randy Moss.
Does anyone else realize that his last name is another word for prostitute?
Use HTML: jalapeño
(put ˜ in place of the n)
This would probably be a great gig for Buzz after he wins multiple NC's with Hokies. You know, like 5 or 6.
I was always more of a "3:30am Dammit with sausage and extra ranch and watch this I can eat the whole thing while drinking 3 more completely unnecessary beers" kinda guy.
Seriously, we could have soundproofed South Main Cafe with all the boxes we had stacked on our back porch. It was like firewood. One of us in my house ordered Gumby's probably every other night. We knew all the drivers.
Hot damn, those were the days.
hah! I actually went out of my way to look up the ASCII code for the n with a tilde for jalapeno, and it showed up fine in the text box. Maybe I should start using the preview feature.

I can attest that this was occurring WAYYYY back in 2009, as well. I believe it may have been even earlier than that.
