It was tough watching Thompson get 0 pts and 3 rebounds? He only averaged 6.5 pts and 5.1 rebounds this season so it wasn't like he lit the world on fire. Honestly Finney Smith's college career was a bit disappointing as well compared to his recruiting ranking. Florida missed the NCAA tournament the last two years (his Jr and Sr years)
You are right, I hadn't even thought of that. WVU and ISU were likely pre-season picks to be in the big dance. Not sure about St Joes out of the A10, but they were at least in the upper echelon of their conference.
Too bad we got shit on in all 3 contests. Without looking back at scores, I dont remember if any of them were even within 15-20 points. Good thing those experiences helped us right the ship in conference play. I dont if anybody could draw too much confidence in either of those 3 losses.

I have no doubt that the 16-17' OOC schedule will be more rigorous than last year, but don't forget that we played three tourney teams OOC this season.

Recruiting is #2 behind coaching. Errors are a lack of focus on fundamentals and that comes from coaching. Recruiting should see a boost just by having facilities on par with the middle of the ACC. Baseball needs a significant investment to win just because it hasn't gotten the necessary investment in a long time.
For some reason, Pete Hughes managed to assemble and coach a team that hosted an NCAA regional well before any of those improvements came about. Just sayin.

Kenny Brooks is a hero in Harrisonburg. Not sure what it would take for him to leave since he really loves his hometown... but he would be an outstanding hire for VT!
