Honestly headgear is just plain uncomfortable and if it weren't required by the rules in the NCAA very few people would wear it. With that being said no one wears it in practice or if they compete in the international styles headgear is non-existent.

If Buzz leaves, you have to understand that this is the process of becoming a good team. If you hire a good coach and he completely turns around a program, other schools are going to be in his ear 24/7, especially if you're a non-traditional basketball school like Tech. With a good AD like Whit, though, he will bring in another solid coach who will build the program a little more and then he might leave. Once the program is built to an elite (or somewhere pretty close) level, a coach will be looking to get the job and lock it up for a long time, and we will have our Roy Williams or Coach K. Trust in Whit.

Gwiz had that match and lost it at the end of the third. It looked like he was gassed, but he didnt try to get the escape with 8 seconds left. Hell of a match.

The TCU job would piss me off more than Okie St. At least Okie St makes sense, that's a job I would take. I understand that.

But there aren't a lot of p5 jobs worse than VT, but TCU is one of them. Sure, "new commitment to basketball." Maybe its for family. But when you are a basketball coach, you have already signed up for a nomadic existence.

The good news if it's TCU is that fewer of our players may be interested in transferring. It's fucking Texas, after all.

It is extremely unfair. There is a difference between being pushed out and backing out. Officials have to recognize the difference, which is very difficult in many cases.

So is Snyder from Ohio State. They both have more agility in their styles than traditional heavyweights. The one thing that I hate about Snyder that the refs let him get away with is driving opponents out. Refs call his opponents, like Walz, for stall calls when Snyder wasn't wrestling he was just pushing them out.

Cauliflower ear is nasty.

Edit: Seriously why do these kids still have this going on? Headgear should prevent that.

I understand with what you are saying but to me, it DOESN'T depend on his decision. I will be incredibly upset if he leaves. However, Buzz is Buzz. I'm not even going to try to figure out what makes him tick. If you listen to his radio interview, he said he would do what is best for his family. Unlike most coaches out there, I believe him and I respect him. If Buzz stays (and I think he will stay), I'll be ecstatic. If he leaves, I'll be upset about MY loss and Tech's loss but I will thank him for making the program relevant again. I will not blast the man and say negative things about him because he has given his all to the Hokies.

You say Buzz shouldn't have a decision to make but he does. What would you do if you had a similar opportunity? Stay for the fans, players, and university or do what's best for your family? College basketball is a business. Whit is a businessman and hopefully will make this a moot point.

no bonus. we're tied for third and will stay there unless Snyder becomes the first heavyweight to beat NCSU's Gwizdiowski in the last 2+ years.
