Although, Corey Moore is a jerk. I went up to him one time and said, "Congratulations on the undefeated season". His response, "Who the f$&@ are you?!" I said the same to Michael Vick and he said "Thank you". I don't think you have to be a jerk to be tough on the field. Xavier Adibi, the Martin brothers, Kam Chancellor... Very respectful in person.

ugh....the midwest is a flaming pile of dog poop indeed.....thanks to Utah, the only possible remaining points I have in that section is one more win from LOLUVA to the elite 8 where i had them losing to Utah. Welp... at least my other 3 sections are in relatively good shape......for now....

Don't know the kid but looking back at this thread and his tweets, this has the look of a grade A troll move.

Could be wrong, but I get the feeling he keeps popping up VT stuff anytime he doesn't feel like he's getting enough FSU attention

...or he could just be throwing friendly jabs directed solely at Isaiah Ford because he's wearing his jersey and we are over-analyzing the intentions of a 17 y/o kid...this is probably the least likely.

Love the enthusiasm but that might be a bit ambitious for next year. The ACC is going to be an absolute blood bath next season so I think a top 8 finish in the ACC and a non double digit seed in the NCAA are much more achievable goals for next season. And in all tournaments once you get in it all matters on the match ups. Look at Gonzaga this year, they weren't going to make the tournament unless they won their conference and now they're pretty much going to walk to an elite 8 appearance. Its just really really tough to make goals based off of tournament wins when you have no idea who you're going to be playing.

The defense was improved but was still garbage to finish the season, got scorched by FSU Miami Princeton and BYU to finish the year. We usually hit the original rotations but after that it seems to fall apart. Hopefully with another year of Buzz those get cleared up.

The most important thing is for the freshman to make the sophomore leap. Thats what will take the team to the next level

I may be wrong, but I was under the impression that Ladler, coming off the ACL, wouldn't be full tilt this spring.

To me, given what I saw on tape at the end of the year, Alexander and Edmunds are my corners. Mook is my nickel, especially if Stroman's appeal on offense pulls Fuente into flipping him back to O. Facyson... if healthy, I would look at him at free since Bud uses his free in man coverage a bunch anyway.

Chuck Clark should be the rover and should be playing around the LOS. My opinion- will share more about it next week.

Having the DBs playing multiple positions might have been more of a Torrian Gray than Bud Foster thing. The following is from a conversation Foster had with Andrea Adelson in February.

The other area on defense that needs to get sorted out is in the secondary, where the Hokies used its players in a hodgepodge of positions last season. Foster said he wants to make sure his defensive backs have clearly defined roles headed into 2016, as opposed to rotating between positions the way they did last season.

Before defensive backs coach Torrian Gray left for Florida, he and Foster talked at length about making sure that happened. But it might not get sorted out until fall practice. With Facyson out, rover Terrell Edmunds might have to slide over to cornerback for the spring.

Foster also prefers Chuck Clark at safety and Adonis Alexander at cornerback, and wants to find the best roles for Mook Reynolds and Anthony Shegog.

"We don't have a lot of depth," Foster said. "We have a two-deep so we want to get them in the right spot to where they can learn and grow and develop and play that position and understand the expectations of that position and how it fits in the defense, where they fit and work on that. We're going to settle in on who our best four are back there, and we're going to get that right. We have to get that right."

Nobody here is higher on Trevon Hill than me.... but they need a good rotation. Mihota was EXCELLENT versus UVA and Tulsa. There is already depth at defensive tackle. You don't move Mihota inside to be a 2nd string DT when he gives them the excellent big two gap presence on the edge against spread teams. Tulsa ran wild with Nicolas in the game. When Mihota played, Tulsa's run game was non-existant. That wasn't an accident. He and Nigel Williams were better that Dadi and Luther against the run the last two games.

I love this article and I have been saying that I miss us having a chip on our shoulder for a while. Dwight is dead on and hope we can bring that attitude back. We should bring Corey Moore in every spring for attitude mentorship.

In addition to Alston Smith, a bunch of other would be rising seniors with remaining eligibility are no longer listed on the roster: Drew Burns, Joel Caleb, Josh Eberly, Desmond Frye, Jeremy Haynes, Greg Jones, Charley Meyer, and Jack Willenbrock.

All of these kids were recognized on senior day last November.

Please keep in mind, Bitter relayed a conversation with Foster indicating that Alexander would be at corner, Edmunds at rover, and Reynolds at nickel. Keep in mind, whoever published this roster included all the freshmen (most of which whom won't be enrolling until May or July.) Some of these rosters have had some errors in the past. Let's see what Bud rolls out next week.

Even though probably most of us attended public schools, I seriously doubt Buzz is sending his kids off to public K-12 schools. Might want to find out the quality of schools in general, and from what I know, they are no better, and probably rated lower, than VA schools overall. Bottom line, I don't think the schools for his children would be the reason for leaving, nor would be the prestige of a job at any Big 12 school, except KU. But that's the part of the country he grew up in, so it's always possible that he could leave to go there if it's a lucrative deal. Let's hope Whit realizes what we have here, and makes every effort to keep him here. But if that fails, and Buzz departs, I think Whit will know what to do to keep the program moving forward.

College basketball is indeed a business. One big component of business is the contract. Now, I'll not begrudge anyone the right to renegotiation at an appropriate juncture, but I'd like to see him honor more than two years of a 7 year deal. We bemoan recruits that renege on their commitments, and I'm not saying I'm gonna trash Buzz if he leaves, it's just that I will reserve the right to have my say about it either way. Believe me, I am a big Buzz fan, have been excited by his hiring and really hope he stays with us, yes, for selfish reasons. I have been a Hokie as long as Buzz has been alive, though, and I know where MY loyalty lies. Just saying that if you aren't Buzz or his family, what are you then? Chopped liver? Those recruits and players have families too, and it's not like Buzz will be crowned a king somewhere, he'll just have another job. Honor the spirit of the contract and I'll have nothing to say but goodbye, thanks, and good luck in your next job.

Was surprised that Chuck Clark was listed as corner back in latest roster. Andy Bitter's latest articles seemed to indicate he was going to be back at safety again. With more coaches in the backfield it will be interesting to see what determines how the most talented players are divided up. Guess it's a good thing that so many of our players seem flexible. Both Edmunds and Adonis Alexander at rover seems like a waste ... would think they'd both be first string at
some position.

Really need to see D Johnson and Ladler compete at corner for depth. Does Payne get in the mix at safety depth? I get the feeling that with Faycson being out of action Bud is going to be working a patchwork secondary in the fall.
