An industry source confirmed Saturday that TCU administrators have been gathering information on Virginia Tech's Buzz Williams, a native of Van Alstyne, in regard to the school's search for its next men's basketball coach.

Whit tweeted that he was there today. Nice to see him making the trip to support the team. I may be wrong, but I bet there aren't many other ADs there.

I had high expectations of this season considering where we had been over the previous few seasons. I was excited to see improvement and good basketball from my favorite team in a sport I have loved for most of my life. I knew this team had potential and was being undersold, especially with that preseason 14th place prediction. Their ceiling could be a trip to the NCAAs as a bubble team, but that was the longest of long shots. Yet, this team exceeded my expectations and almost hit that ceiling. Not only did they take us on a ride and reintroduce us to basketball success, but they did it with a character and a passion that made us fall in love with them beyond just being a Virginia Tech team. They made us hope and care and celebrate. I didn't want this season to end, I wanted to go back to Cassell. But every game I watched and every little thing about this team will stick with me for a long time. This season is what sports, and sports fandom, is all about.

Thank you Virginia Tech Basketball. I can't wait for next season.

Did Weaver replace Johnson, or was that Babcock? I see that as a different situation.

Buzz just did a complete rebuild of the team, so yes, I think he should stick with it for a couple more years. I see it as a little different than just another recruiting cycle in an ongoing tenure.

Everybody should do what's best for them, but I think it's important also to think about your organization. This is a critical point in the rebuild process.

I didn't have enough turkey legs to post that they changed the football roster.. I don't think they updated weights or heights though

If Buzz stays 3 season (or 5 seasons or 10 seasons) and then leaves, what about the current players at that point? Does he owe them something?

Did you hold it against Weaver when he fired James Johnson after 2 seasons? Did Weaver owe it to the players to keep the coach who recruited them? It works both ways. Like it or not, its a business and all parties will do what they think is in their best interest at the time they think best.

I actually think Buzz will be back, but I won't lost any sleep if he leaves. Whit will hire a very capable replacement.

I think I'd hold it against him, at least a little.

I feel like he owes something to the players he recruited, and he owes something to the community.

People often stay at organizations until the organization is in a situation where it can handle the change. Positions of responsibility are different than a mid-level professional position or a gig at Burger King.

Gotcha. I'd love to see them win the league, and it gets more and more likely every week.

Tomorrow (Monday) night is last day to vote. Uva is slightly ahead of Boone. Can vote today and again tomorrow.

I watched. I just meant I wanted LC to win today.

I just meant it might be tough since they played Crystal Palace, who you also said you liked a bit.

My brother has lived there for the better part of 25 years. He loves it. I like it a lot myself. Most of my time spent there is in the historical part or on the water though. There are good restaurants and neat shops. People/boat watching at Ego Alley is great in the summer time.
