I highly recommend that anyone who visits ANC take the time to visit section 60. That section is filled with those lost in Afghanistan and Iraq. It is important to respect those lost in the past and see the Tomb of the Unknowns and all the other popular areas of ANC, but it is also important to remember we still have those in harms way and giving their lives for this counrty.
Yeah there was a lot of "We need to force more people to do this to bring back patriotism on campus" editorializing that I saw in the posts that got shared.
Was kinda sad to see that taking away from an excellent learning opportunity for Buzz helping his team connect with some very close to home vets and a very visible part of Hokie Nation.
Exactly. This isn't limited to VT basketball. The spoiled millennial rhetoric has spread all around the nation and Facebook eats it up now.
Anyone else watching this game think BC can't buy a blocking call?
Now that you mention it, the thread-header also clearly states the game will be on 1/2. Maybe I should RTFM
It's called clickbait. Put in a #HOTTAKE as a headline and more people click it.
Look, I know what you're saying... But we're not getting in without winning the ACC. At this point in the season, anyone who is in consideration has good wins on their resume, so they're going to look at RPI and bad losses. Neither of those will help us in the slightest. That loss to Alabama St alone might be enough to make the committee move on.
But that's actually ok. I think the possibility of a much longer run in the NIT will help this young roster out rather than immediately heading to Dayton only to have to jump on a plane right away to make it to the next venue for a game a couple days later should we even win a game in the NCAA.
I have seen a couple of versions of this story floating around today and they're all saying the same thing. It really irks me that the premise of this article is that VT players were disrespectful and needed to be taught a lesson. Another story referred to basketball players in general as disrespectful. I really hate that narrative. I love the lesson Buzz was teaching, but the implication from multiple writers that these lazy, disrespectful athletes (or our players particularly) needed a tough lesson rubs me the wrong way. Buzz, as we have seen, teaches life lessons. This one was particularly poignant, especially in light of our tradition in the Corps and Ut Prosim. But that's too much for a writer knocking off a quick article.

This is what I would consider ideal as well, with Motley being used situationally this season, as he has been in the past.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who's confused as to why this video keeps popping up as a "have you seen this?"
It's time to Michael down your Vincents.
There's a vid circulating internetverse that shows Buzz with the team bringing in a number of vets and talking about the proper way to stand during the Nat'l Anthem. While the singer was not particularly great (I would say mediocre at best) the vid itself just really pulls my heart. It's one of the most humbling things I've ever watched and damn near brought me to tears. Here's the link from fakebook:

We have two bad losses. One to Alabama State and the other to Northwestern. Both at home, both in the early half of the season. We can't magically make those go away, but thankfully computers are not picking. There is a human element. Wins against Miami and FSU would bump us up in to the 70s and we've got a shot. Lot of ifs, but saying only through auto bid is not quite right. Some bubble teams might bounce early in their tournaments, it's all in flux right now.
There's precedence for teams in the high 60s to get in, and they've all been from major conferences. It's a might longshot, but an impressive showing this week and two wins, will get us in the discussion at the table.
Why did Evans only play in 8 JUCO games? Is that how many games are in one season?
Edit: Wrong line of comments.
My mother is there.
You actually have five appearances. Salary level is minorly effected by your current ownership group and more so by the MLS management level, so you dont get much say there. Same thing going on with United even with the recent roster overhaul. Completely understand the stadium issues, try having to go to decrepit RFK on a regular basis, wondering when the overhang is going to break lose and fall down on you. At least United is on its way to a stadium deal down near Nats park, although its looking like 2019 before it will open now.
LMAO! Well, he ain't lyin! Dude even managed to (SPOILER ALERT) splooge the object female of Thanos' desire (before Thanos, no less).
He does all the right things.
For the record, one of the right things is also "Stay at VT until retirement."
I squanch everytime i watch
Respect! Those winter and summer breaks have to be awesome! The month long Christmas/Winter breaks in college were literally my favorite thing ever haha.
Show is hilarious. Was crying laughing at the improv interdimensional TV episode
Sounds reliable to me.
The team is finally firing on all cylinders and has really turned into a "TEAM". It has been great to watch them this season. I feel bad that we are losing Shane Henry, but awesome that we have about 99% of our scoring back next year plus potentially Hill and Outlaw. Maybe LeDay will actually be able to take a breather.

Has the question ever been answered to why Buzz never wears VT gear?
