Buzz has to have a way to display his 'guns' more often at games. Maybe some orange & maroon sleeveless sweater vest that Buzz could strip down to for the second half attire. That suit he wore yesterday looked a little tight, so obviously coach is growing. But if he starts growing a Barry Bonds-sized head, then we might have a problem.

Went to the basketball game last night and saw the Hokies beat #7 ranked Miami at the Cassell.

For celebration we went to the Taphouse on north Main Street and they had Ninkasi Noir on tap. It is marketed as a sweet stout, combining coffee favors with milk sugar (lactose).

It makes the second outstanding stout I have had in a week, the other being a Stone product at the Quarter in Roanoke,

Mmmmm

Yeah, but does the selection committee really look at RPI over records, and how a team is trending? I've been watching this crap way too long to realize that if a team gets 20+ wins, and a winning record in the most competitive basketball conference, that they would only be the 80-90th best team in the country, unless you're including NBA teams. Outside of Alabama State, we pretty much won the games we should have won, and it wasn't like we played a bunch of cupcakes in our non-conference games. If our RPI is still over 80 after winning a couple more games in the ACC tournament, then all that's saying is that RPI is based solely on statistical calculations (e.g., see BCS), has nothing to do with how a team is trending, and shouldn't be the sole factor on NCAA tournament worthiness, which I don't believe is the case anyhow.

Regardless, we win ACC tournament games, and we should be in the NCAA conversation.

I personally love that the crowd didn't rush the court. It allowed the players and the coaches to have the spotlight and thank the fans as you saw in the video. It shows the rest of the ACC that we EXPECTED a game and could come out victorious. The coaches and team showed a lot of heart yesterday and it was such a fun game to watch. Stepping on the throat of a top 10 team, one which many people say have the tools to make a run to the final in the tourney. I LOVE this team.

It is a great time to be a Hokie. My freshman year was Tyrod's senior season and I was a little spoiled that year. The past few years I've been finding it to be hard to root for tech sports (I still do obviously..) but the past few months it seems like everything has been reinvigorated and I can't wait for football this year and to see our basketball team next year.

That being said, the fianc and I have already discussed that once the wedding is out of the way and her job starts up, we are definitely joining the Hokie Club and are buying season tickets for 2017. Providing for two people on Arlington off of one salary is tough on the wallet for now.

NIT is a lock at this point, 5 games ago I thought if we hit this Streak and won two in ACC tourney we get on bubble figuring one of those would be against #1 ACC Seed. Didn't see us actually grabbing the 6 Seed which kind of hurts our chances with a 2nd tourney win over #4 Miami that we just beat. So it's gonna take 3 wins a tall order, but my hand is UP. GO HOKIES great season congratulations BUZZ ACC COY!

We might be the 6th seed, but we finished in 7th place (Louisville). I think we need to run the streak to 8 to make the NCAA, but may already be NIT lock thanks to last night.

Screw the NIT, we're looking NCAA with a good or great ACC tournament showing. Think about it - both Pitt and Cuse are on the slide down, and Clemson is in a similar situation as us, but without the momentum we have going into the tournament. Plus, if we win the ACC tournament, isn't there an automatic NCAA bid associated with that? Let's win it then, and eliminate all doubt. And if the NCAA selection committee is anything like the football playoff committee, aren't they also supposed to take into consideration how a team is trending? Maybe I'm dreaming, but hey, at least we're able to ponder the scenarios now that Buzz has our team flying high.

The gut wrencher for them had to be the NC State game. They were tied or in the lead for about 39 mins and 50 secs, only to have NC State hit a game winning buzzer beater to escape.

No other motorcycle riders in this forum? Always enjoy an excuse to head to Blacksburg. And you don't need a cruiser. A bunch of people roll on their sport bikes.

Agree on this, absolutely. Coming in as the "hot" team with a stifling defense; having split UVA and Miami, and with close losses that could've been wins against UNC and ND - this team will be able to retain the confidence. I hope our Metro area DC fan base will turn Verizon center into a home game.

Not only that, but this team is having "FUN" playing the game, and being Hokies. That is one thing that's struck me watching this team in Cassell the year - they are absolutely having fun being a team. They truly love playing in Cassell - they have noticed the return of the fan base, the resurgent Cassell Guard, even the packed house last night despite it being day 1 of spring break. Everyone has an identity, a part to play, and they embrace it.

Nights last night in Cassell are the payoff for sticking by our beloved Hokies.
