Vick's run against Syracuse in 2000 was my first really vivid Tech football memory. Once he got that edge... Turn out the lights
I tend to believe that Andre had greater top-end speed than Michael too. I don't recall ever seeing anyone catch him from behind. But Vick had a lot more elusiveness and probably better acceleration. It all depends on how you want to measure 'fast'. Either way, those two were fun to watch on the field together.
The best part is all the trash they were talking to the camera on the sideline, and then Vick crushing their souls
I respect the coaches who do all those things more than I do a school that has an AD and 17 coaches on staff. Where is all that money coming from.
Agreed that he won't be doing any of those things. Usually in SC the head coaches who are getting paid six figures are the ADs as well. That being said, they also have assistant ADs and secretaries who cover a lot of admin work for them.
My point is that I'm happy for the guys who have made it to that level, because there are A LOT of HSFB coaches who put in way more work & not be adequately compensated.
Kind of in the middle THAI CURRY maybe
But no one likes that shit!
Evans wins starting role pretty easily,
Motley backs him up,
Lawson redshirts,
Durkin starts at TE in 2017,
Jackson gets recruited over in the 2017 class.
How weak are these #sauses#? Are we talking Mango Habanero or more like Asian Zing?
Interesting...care to explain?
#sauces# also mentioned that the staff is very impressed with Lawson's dedication in the offseason. He and the WRs have been found in the indoor facility late at night running player organized routes (past 11pm) . Diablo is going to be a freak according to my weak ass #sauses#
well, in DW defense, he didn't run a straight line. So he probably ran more than 89 yards, which would increase the MPH
That's just the average. He started from a still position, so his top speed was much higher than that.
he should be hitting probably like 22mph or so...
So using your data, David Wilson ran 89 yards in 11 seconds or .051 mile in .0031 hr.
.051/.0031 = 16.45 miles/hr
Of course, as much as I love a kickoff return for a TD, the downside of this also hit me. The defense had looked gassed before when they gave up the TD, so after the elation, I said, "oh crap, now the defense has to hold the lead." And it wasn't until Roc Carmichael picked it off in the end zone that I could breathe again.
Agree with everything except the starter. I think Lawson and Evans will battle it out in the spring and the winner will be the starter next year. Lawson has been in Blacksburg a year and Evans has two years playing experience. Both are new to JF system. Whichever one picks it up best in the spring will keep the job until something forces a change. The only caveat to this is that there may not be a clear winner in the spring and the battle will continue in the fall.
Question (& please don't attack me): I feel bad for him, however, does this help us out at all in terms of the upcoming match-up?
Hey-oohhh!
Jackson redshirts but impresses many (very bright future) Lawson wins starting role at spring, Evan's overtakes him in the Fall. Hate to say it but Motley is on the outside, in the rain looking in..... Durkins looking at TE square in the face.
You and my dad must have been on the same wavelength. After the GT TD my comment was that we'd get to see what our two minute offense looked like. He said "Nope, Wilson's gonna run it back and end it right here." I thought , sure, that would be great, but.... Then right after he caught the ball the seas parted so the we could see right down the field toward DW and he ran it back, right toward us. Awesome!
Correct me if I am wrong, but I think they just updated the lighting in Cassell in the last couple years. Lighting on the court is pretty good, but not so good in the stands.
Agreed, but let's be original and unique by making it a modern day outdoor hockey rink!
He is going to be a WR there.
That is a horrible injury. I wish him a speedy recovery.

I agree 100%. I always think games dominated by defense are boring to watch unless it's the Hokies doing the dominating, then it's extremely exciting.
