OP, you are rapidly becoming our resident grappling expert, thanks for cranking out quality posts.
Our team has had dramatic success over the last few years, and these commits continue to display an upward trend. Where do you see Coach Dressler taking this team in the future? Do we have a outside shot at the NCAA championship in the next few seasons?
Yeah pretty much a ho hum class as expected, with most of the top guys already on campus. Of course it will really take a few years to see what we have other than the JC who will either contribute or at least add depth. I really hope to see improvement in next years class though as a sign of things to come.

Its always a tough day for VT on signing day, we hardly ever get pleasant surprises and always seem to have several key misses or flips.

Yeesh. This class wasn't outstanding on paper to begin with, did we really expect to turn it into a top 20 class in 1.5 months? Also, if you notice, after about the 25th ranked class or so (which is typical to where we are)....all the way up to where we are today, there really isn't much of a dropoff.
No doubt I would feel more excited if we had three more 4* players signed, and 247 would bump us up significantly, the reality is, it probably wouldn't have that much of an impact on the quality of this program in 3 years.
We got FOUR offensive linemen. That used to be a pretty big effing problem on this team.
We got one of THE Best QB's of the 2016 class and another great prospect to boot.
Ladler? Welcome to DBU, brother.
Deablo? We got a guy named DIVINE DEABLO! (and he's 6'3")
Something says to me that the early enrollment cannibalized some of the excitement of today. We got some great kids and we should be happy to have secured the overwhelming majority of kids that originally committed to us. JF seems like a great guy and a great coach and I have no doubt that he will have us back to landing nationally recognized recruits someday soon.
Yeah you aren't going to compete annually without getting the top recruits all around. That's why we have to improve with the big time recruits.
Those are all pretty damn good teams that expect to make those shots, so
I'll take Bud's word over a star rating any day.

We have a new coach who is probably very good, a bunch of new guys who wanted to be Hokies more than anything else, and established talent on both sides of the ball. I think we are in a pretty good spot.

They want to be a national championship caliber team and be that immediately. I think everyone here wants that for Tech but it isn't going to happen overnight. Some people only look at what is happening at the surface and make their judgements from that. There are a lot of things to look forward to from Hokie football so lets all be as optimistic as possible about the future. It is a game after all so I try to make it fun as possible and enjoy it.
Now they just need to get fans

I wasn't trying to say we should lower expectations, just try to be realistic about what is really happening at VT. I think its good and am a little disconcerted by some of the negativity today.
No one stole any recruits from us. We convinced a couple players to come to the good guys that were committed elsewhere. That's a solid day for coach that's only two months on the job. While I expect much better results next year, I'm okay with today's outcome. Drink a beer ladies and gents; today could have went far, far worse.
Times are changing for Duke, their renovated stadium will bring them into the modern age.

Duke was hopeless when Cutcliffe came around and now their recruiting classes have improved each year. I'd like to see what Fuente and Foster can do with a full year of recruiting.

Little disappointed, but can't blame him on the reasoning. Good luck to him in the BigXII. Just seems like this sort of thing always happens to us on signing day.
