It's possible that he told the staff that he didn't have to play with his brother in college and then mom and dad came in and had a say in it last minute. Nothing wrong with that.

I honestly don't know how much time and effort we spent on him. He showed up pretty late in the game. I have no problem with the staff trying to bring in talent and emphasize a kid's own success. Ultimately, if family matters prevail, so be it. If it cost us time with someone else we could have had, then it's a loss, but that's the kind of thing we'll never know.

That is if they don't loose heart first. Buzz brought them into the game with their heads held high and with great anticipation, it just looked like they ran out of gas. Such a a heart breaker.

Reggie Floyd is a commit that nobody has really talked about. He's listed as an athlete on ESPN. I'm assuming he'll end up at DB. If he does end up as a DB, where do you see him playing in the defensive backfield? What's a good player comparison?

If we knew that was what it would take to get him. and did not want to/have room to take his brother, why did we spend so much time and effort on recruiting him? That just seems like spending precious resources on a losing battle.

You have a good point. But I disagree with a couple of sentences in there. I don't think we flat out missed on kids we could have flipped. The fact that we even had these kids reconsidering their original commitments is a good sign. With no results to show on the field yet, as you said about Bailey's recruitment, we have to pitch potential. Also with Bailey to Iowa State, that has more to do with his brother than anything. Sure, we didn't close on him but it wasn't for lack of effort or recruiting skill. Especially considering the kid flat out said not even two weeks ago that he was pretty sold on Tennessee and named them his leader. It just came down to him wanting to be with his brother and the only opportunity for that to happen was at Iowa State.

I was more stating that Fuente uses his receivers a lot, thus not just ford and Phillips are going to get playing time. We will def go three wide at times and I'm wondering if any of these guys can come in and make an immediate impact. Plus cam was less than stellar this year, so if one of these guys can push him for playing time, that wouldn't be a bad thing

In terms of getting on the field (not starting over Ford, Phillips, and Hodges), it depends on how much Fuente is planning on rotating. I think Deablo could have an immediate impact on the screen game, so, while he is much bigger than what we traditionally think of as a slot receiver, his quickness and power gives them YAC on those quick screens. Fuente LOVES the WR screen game that functions similarly to a running play (goals is to get 4-6 and set up a positive down and distance.) Kumah is a little more polished as a route runner and can also help inside if called upon. I am still reviewing Denmark and Patterson.
