Then every P5 school but Iowa State failed. With a limited number of scholarships to give you cant give one to someone who can not contribute.
The sad fact is that people and places do rely on them. Look at the hit reputations take because the social media mob jumps on something and starts accusing. Companies have forced people to resign over things that turned out to be fabricated because social media lit them up.
The problem is that the ones starting this are just the peanut gallery that no one gives a shit about. Before you would roll your eyes at them and carry on. Now your friends are re-tweeting them or sharing their craziness and everyone joins in.
Crap
Agreed. After the snow weekend I felt like we should just be happy with the guys we have, and it was over. I let myself get excited for Signing Day, and now that's the only disappointment.
The guys we got already honestly were what made this class for me. Mostly just wanted the Hokies to get some love on NSD and a flip or two to put a stamp on the positive advances in recruiting. Either way, these 3-4 last minute guys don't drastically change the trajectory of this program. Stings a little, but this team got better.
I really wish Belmar could have enrolled early. I like his game. Nice heavy shoulder and twitchy on the end. Good hand placement and extension to squeeze traps and wipe off blocks. He isn't the fastest guy (general theme about almost all the front 7 guys so far in this class besides Hewitt) but he can contribute.
With Maryland needed a QB badly the writing on the wall was there.
I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt that he had a last-minute change of heart. I've got twin daughters, and as much as I want them to do things on their own sometimes there is a bond there that not even I understand.

#Hokies had targeted Ty Pigrome, an athlete from Alabama. https://t.co/TUYpl8sz1i— Andy Bitter (@AndyBitterVT) February 3, 2016
Pigrome to Maryland. No big surprise there
Welcome home, Tyree! Should be a hell of a ride, whichever side of the ball you end up playing on.
Ha Id love a collage of the tweets from today and match them up with the tweets after the spring game ...its funny how opposite the sentiment is.
National Signing Day = Well finish last in the ACC maybe even get kicked out of the ACC
Spring Game = I really love how our second string is going to develop from playing time, but I just hope the coaches can keep the first string engaged on the sidelines in the second half of every game.
Pigrome just signed with MD.
So much depends on if they can flip Pine here before 10:30. I like Beckett a bunch at the mike spot, if he can grow into it. Carter has prototypical mike size and plays down hill, but isn't very rangy.
The backer recruiting seems to be focused heavily on guys that align on the edge and play a stand up DE (similar to the backer role in the bear front.) Belmar was a DE/stand up DE in HS. Simms, Pine, and Ross all played that same role to varying degrees. I like Belmar a bunch in a Bear front. I have no idea how he would fit in base defense backer alignment.
Also- bold crazy perhaps unfounded prediction time (no inside information-just trying to use some football logic.) If Pine doesn't flip, I wouldn't be shocked if we don't see Houshun Gaines get a look as a backer for Bear alignments. He is similar size-wise to Edmunds, perhaps a little twitchy-er in the pass rush and backside pursuit, and they need depth desperately at backer with only Edmunds and Moss at that spot going into spring.
Wife blames this one on Buzz. Wanted him to get the guys to foul 'cuse when we were up by three and 20 sec. left on the clock. Can't fault her logic. This game hurt.
Nothing was photoshopped in 1975 to my knowledge. I'm just imagining. But the hologram was there, at Tech, in the ME Dept. But don't ask what the image was that we saw.
He posted a video of him and Wells in VT gear yesterday
Seriously, we could get all walk ons and if we win, I don't give a damn. It's great to sign big names but at the end of the day the score board is what matters.
Didn't he post as recently as yesterday? No one made him take pictures in hokie gear and post it for the world to see. It's trolling. I'm not lamenting his decision, but I'm calling it as I see it.
Fuente isn't the aw shucks!!! kind of guy, he is not gonna waste any time moping about one recruit from Florida. Good coaches will be a little ticked off for a short period of time, move on, and lead his team forward. Recruiting is won by the results on the field.
Was photoshop around in 1975? What would the watch it on? /s
This game was over as soon as it went to OT. Luck of the home court, gave Cuse' some absurd 3s to finish it off.
Another chapter in 'Live and Die by Seth Allen, a Hokies Tale'. Tonight we died by the hand of his late game aggression. Use the clock, Seth.
This game hurt, I swore, alot. We did everything we needed to win, for the first 38min. ACC road games are no easy feat, and we're becoming dangerously close to winning them again.
Raines twins Joshua and Jaquan Bailey headed to Iowa State. Little suspense there for onetime Florida commit— Justin Barney (@JustinBarneyTU) February 3, 2016
Got one..finally.
EDIT: Oops. This was supposed to be the tweet indicated we flipped Tyree Rodgers.
Seriously...the guy did a great job grabbing a couple of new kids, flips and recommits. Sorry we didn't get everyone on our list...but damn he hasn't even held his first practice yet!
(Not aimed at you...the Twitterverse)
And tweeting recruits and getting a like back or a retweet is apparently validation for many adults. Equally sad times.
Today's message brought to you by "DON'T TWEET RECRUITS."

More LB & DE misses.
To say I'm not thrilled would be putting it mildly.
