After watching this team compete, nothing would surprise me. Other than the Duke game, they have won or been in the other games they have played and seem to be getting better each game. Just wish we could go through a season without all the injures.

Thank you for posting, interesting information about Hokie football. I enjoyed reading it and was very enlightened by the information posted. Nice to see someone take the time to post that.

Midnight here, Christiansburg has somewhere between 10 inches and a foot.

I know I really enjoy reading those posts that you can tell are by people in the know and made by respected members after seeing them post for the almost two years I have been a member. Glad to see this being addressed as I see far too much of it on other forums and one of the things that sets TKP apart from those other sites. Go Hokies

I saw where Beckett is now torn between the Hokies and another school? What's up with that? I though this kid was a Tech commit through and through?

In some good company. Would like to see the bowl records go positive in the next few years. Also, would like to see the #1-#5 bowl record to break the ofer.

Nice blizzard analysis.

Seems like Marshall is the dumping ground for all poor academic students and misfits through the years. Would have liked to see him prep for a year and get his grades up so he could have come to Tech. Wish him the best and hope he can get his grades in order and be successful.

Id like to know how many other top defenses do. I mean, that's why dual threat QBs are so valuable.

Can never know too many fishing knots. I'll be working (tying flies) to sell at the spring shows and stock my guide boxes for the season

I just drove all over Richmond and stopped for a drink at a bar with a friend. No problem here. I'd guess 6 inches of snow and sleeting now. Not living up to the hype so far!

10 pm Baltimore. Winds are howling non-stop, snow falling pretty good, visibility rapidly decreasing. We'll see what tomorrow has in store!

davelnop, it never crossed my mind. I appreciate the fishing conversation and in no way construed anything you said as anything but a friendly exchange. My eyes have been on the slide for ten years or so, close vision mainly. I am now 65 and I would really struggle with knots if I didn't wear bifocal polarized sunglasses. I'm still fairly functional in bright light, but low light can be a challenge. Good thing is, I've tied those knots so many times now that I can tie them almost blindfolded.
Hope you are weathering this storm well, if you are in it. Take care.

we had thunder snow just north of annapolis in the veterans day storm in 1987...weird

The only way the game is getting postponed is if UNC can't make it up here. They were originally scheduled for Saturday evening and doing their shootaround at noon on Sunday, but I'm sure they are just playing it by ear at the moment. Same with our girls who have to get out of here to get to Notre Dame for their game on Sunday.

Well if that's your metric, then Esiason definitely qualifies. He had at least an equivalent, if not better career, than Vick. Both went to 4 Pro-bowls. Esiason was an NFL-MVP in 1988. Vick was comeback player of the year in 2010.

Several of the other Maryland players are also close. Jenkins went to 4 pro bowls. Wychek and Merriman went to 3 pro bowls, each.

Their best players are from 40 years+ ago, but they have put out some pretty good talent of late. Maybe not NFL record talent, but definitely prominent.
