It's crazy how many wrecks there were in Virginia last night.
I grew up in Herndon/Reston with everyone commuting closer in to the city, so it blows my mind that people live closer in and commute OUT to Herndon. Since when did this become a thing?
Welp. Living in Hampton Roads/va beach, the good news is I got to work safe this morning. The bad news is I got to work
I didn't get home last night. I got within 2 miles of my house (after a couple hours of driving), and there were too many accidents, treacherous roads, etc. Ended up going to my buddy's in who live right at I66/28 and put me up for the night. I gotta tell you folks, after living here a year, I've never seen anything like it.

Game observations:
1-You know how Seth Allen will play within the 1st minute of the game. Tonight he was outstanding.
2-It is hard to play defense when the officiating crew will not allow you to play defense. Very inconsistant referees and the foul total the first 8 minutes of the second was extremely lopsided, putting there guys on the line with about 14 minutes to play.
3-Robinson is going to be an outstanding point guard. Just needs to learn from more playing time.
4-Shane played the best I have ever seen him play.
5-Blackshear has to stay away from the stupid fouls, but he will learn. Non factor toniight.
6-Lack of height is still our biggest problem, but inconsistancy is becoming less of a problem.
7-Against good teams, we need to make every trip down the court count. Which they did for the most part. But I would like to trim back on the 8 second pocessions.
8-I hate to say it was a good loss but they played very well, officiating aside. The future is bright.
Had a friend that left work in Reston at 7pm, commuting to Arlington (Clarendon) and it took her 6.5 hours to get home last night.
I left Herndon at 6pm and it took me 2 hours to make it to North Bethesda.

Not going to lie, after all the shit people say about Raleigh drivers and the snow, especially seeing a thread like this yesterday morning makes it especially gratifying to see this happen on your alls drive home at the end of that day due to a 1 inch dusting
I want to say also that the officials broke our rhythm at crucial points in the second half and that, despite that, if Seth hits that last three, we'd be taking this thread in another direction. But, in reality, this was the first time I can recall since I started following the Hokies back in 2000 that they looked like a competitive ACC team from start to finish. Most teams in most games have runs and the momentum swings back and forth. Last night we dominated this game at least in the respect that we got the lead and held it for most of the game. Many times they closed the gap and many times we opened it right back up. Auguste is a beast and I sure wish we could find one like him. The strategy was obvious in the second half - he was gonna drive and we were gonna foul. But mostly it still came down to a missed three. Otherwise, we were the better team for the majority of that game. We might be undermanned and young and inexperienced but last night was exciting and for the first time in a long time, I never once thought we were gonna lose that game until when we did. I've believed in Buzz since day one both as a BBall whiz and more so as a leader and developer with some philosopher tenets that rock.
Yep. 295 was like a graveyard of ditched/wrecked cars this morning. Made traffic a nightmare.
lol...yeah as badly as I'd love to play in the snow with my truck, I'm not going to venture out in it. Everything will be grid-locked and I won't have any chance to really have any fun. I'll be sitting by the fire drinking alcohol and watching Netflix, probably.
That being said, I'm still curious how much eshiben5 thinks we're going to get. Afterall, the fiance entered a "guess-the total-snow-fall-amount" competition at work and there is a free cup of coffee on the line for her. She'd like to be the closest and anything over 26" will guarantee a win for her.
With cars still stuck all over from a 1 inch storm, I don't think it matters how much or how little that area gets you are screwed.
The best of all possible worlds wouldn't even include a College Park, Maryland, let alone having to live there for a year.

I lost sleep over this game, such a great effort by an undermanned team. Tough way to lose but future looks great.
When you look at the total fouls, one would say the calls were fairly equal. Early calls in the beginning of the 2nd half went against VT. Those calls, IMO, took the momentum from the Hokies. However, the team fought thru this and remained competitive throughout. UNTIL that bogus blocking foul they called against LeDay late in the game.
Uhhh....aren't we forgetting a certain beloved coach who'd been at VT forever?
