hopefully he and torrian gray will be able to make a big move in FL and GA with recruiting (and LBs everywhere).
we have some big lineman now, I wonder if Bud will take some 3-4 principles and mix them in with his schemes. Mihota, Settle, Walker as DL, maybe a Gaines or edge rusher + a few speedy LBs. Would something like that work well or are our LBs too small for a 3-4?
There is a great and terrible beauty to the phrase 'Third Richt'
Bud's not leaving. If you know why then you know, and if you don't, just go to sleep tonight knowing that Bud's never leaving.
You're working with outdated info. It's Bernie 2016.
The mention of the Coexist bumper sticker made me chuckle heartily because it is so prevalent on hybrids and full electrics.
I'm from China and now work in the US. However, in the past 3 years I had to fly back home to Beijing every Christmas so that I can combine my PTOs with the Christmas holidays to maximize my stay. Unfortunately this would mean I pretty much miss all football between 12/20-1/10 ish. VPN+ESPN3 were buggy as hell and even firstrow wasn't smooth enough to be watchable for me. As you said, when you lose the live game-watching privilege, you start to lose all the passion about the sport itself, and it starts to become a simple habit of checking the scorecards. So I truly understand how important Eric's service was to bring you back to following Hokie Football, and I sincerely hope if I go back to China in the future, i would be as lucky as you were to be able to continue to follow the Hokie football.
Bud's gonna be like this guy?

I like this move. It was obvious Cornell didn't have enough work to keep him busy. Assuming Scott picks up Bud's scheme without any major hiccups, this move will free up Bud to "float" among the three groups during practice as needed, and just in general worry more about the defense as a whole than any one position.
Question for the gurus out there: is it more common practice to have a DC coach a position or no? Just wondering if our old way or our new way is more the norm in college football.
Way to soon to tell. If foster didn't leave this year I think there is a good chance he never leaves
Have to give a PVI shout out. I graduated in 2012
what is this a car for ants? It needs to be at least three times as big!!

I can't see it happening.
For anyone who is interested, Subaru also has a hybrid these days, the Subaru XV CrossTrek Hybrid (what an annoyingly long name). It doesn't get anywhere close to the echelons of the Honda or Toyota hybrids, but it's EPA projections are 32 MPG because they run them cold for the tests. The actual car (or at least the one we have) gets around 40 MPG. It also has some other advantages (read: all wheel drive) which is an absolute must up on our muddy/snowy/rough-driving mountain.
Oh and also it has fold down seats just like it was some kind of impreza (because it is)
do we expect for Scott to become the eventual DC? As in when Foster decides to move on does Scott replace him after learning from him for the next few years assuming Fuente is here long term?
Even if you charge it 3 times per day, the battery tests out for 182 years until replacement, if I calculated that correctly...
I'm looking for investors for my idea for an electric car that can also use natural Methane gases from the driver and passenger seats to fuel the vehicle.

In other words a car that is run off farts... who's with me!!
I am an average sized man and I feel like this riding around in my buddies electric car.

Have car companies improved the cost to battery replacement? Have companies improved the energy cost to manufacture the batteries? Until those two things happen it feels like it's a net loss to buy outright a full electric car.
Did it come with the requisite "Coexist", "pet lover", and "Hillary 2016" bumper stickers? And are you still eating meat?
On the surface, this looks like a good hire to me. One takeaway I got was from the 2nd video posted above: Coach Scott drops a nickname I haven't heard before for CJF and it's incredible. I don't think I'll ever refer to him as anything else.

Not to mention the cost of battery replacement, which will be significant and inevitable.
I have to stop cutting onions here at work. Its damn embarrassing, but at the same time, so worth it.

Not sure how much merit there is to this, but during the Memphis bowl game one of the announcers said there were only two different pass protections in the Memphis offense. What does that mean for our offense moving forward? Is two heavily practiced protections better than having multiple sets or does this mean there is likely a way to beat our two protections consistently?
For those of you who consistently watch games on ESPN3/WatchESPN do you just have to deal with that ridiculous delay? I literally can't check twitter when I watch Tech games on ESPN3 because they are sometimes SEVERAL plays behind. Had several big plays good and bad spoiled for me this year by checking twitter while watching on ESPN3.

Staff Stability.
This was a hallmark of the Beamer staffs. Guys never left......which was both a positive and negative. The positive was that we didn't have any turnover, so we could legitimately preach that to the momma's on recruiting visits that the guys here will be here when your kid graduates. We built long recruiting relationships with HS coaches. We didn't have to relearn new schemes every couple of years.
The negative was that we may have chosen less desireable coaches in player development and/or recruiting. We also got stale, as the Newsome/Sherman/MOC era illustrates.
Fuente has a staff that should be quite stable. Maybe Cornelsen is good enough to bounce to be a bigger school's OC or a HC. Maybe Wiggins or Scott will be ready to be a coordinator on their own soon enough. Maybe Burden isn't a "VT guy" and will bounce if offered enough cash from a bigger school looking to recruit Virginia. Maybe Gray or Wiles get a DC position. But every person on this staff has some inherent commitment to either VT or Fuente. There are no recruiting mercenaries here. No Elmo type DC's.
So we will see how that plays out.
