That was way more than 5 sentences
In 5 sentences or less. Is Bud's system so weird that Scott will have trouble learning it
Absolutely not. He's a professional football coach, defense is defense. There are only so many gaps to fill and only so many eligible receivers. If they expect true freshman to come in and learn the defense during fall camp, no reason a professional won't learn it in no time. This is what he does.
Only issue may be that He won't be as fluent as everyone else on the staff to start out with. That would only be a concern mid-game. The rest of the staff have all been in the system for a while. He might not be as quick to notice possible adjustments, I'm sure at this point Wiles and Foster and Gray can see how offenses are trying to set them up instantly. However, I'm sure Foster will have it all sorted out. Foster doesn't seem like the type of coach to let his position coaches fail in their first year.
agreeing with it
Absolutely not. He's been hired to run Foster's defense, he knows what he signed up for.
will it just take say a season and then he will be ready to role and adopt it?
I would be shocked if he wasn't 100% comfortable coaching his position by the time spring camp starts.
They could probably race pods pretty well.
GM was late to the party but the Spark EV is just what I need. Inexpensive, 80+ mile range, optimized for local driving.
Both of those are a shame.
I like it.
When I saw the headline, of course, I was thinking Tesla.
In 5 sentences or less. Is Bud's system so weird that Scott will have trouble learning it and agreeing with it or will it just take say a season and then he will be ready to role and adopt it? At this point pure speculation, just curious as someone that doesn't fully understand the nuances.
Having a guy that speaks Fuente and also speaks Bud wouldn't suck. Makes sense when you think about it. Practicality over sinister.
I can definitively say 'maybe.' I didn't know this was a thing until after I got the car. I am not sure if BGE participates but I intend to find out.
EDITED: BGE has a time of day rate they offer to EV owners, which jacks up the daytime price and reduces the nighttime price, assuming you'll be charging overnight.
Did you have to get a special outlet installed in your house? If so, how costly was it?
Not yet, the car comes with a 120V cord. But yeah, I am getting one installed. You really need a 240V charger to keep the charge time to a minimum (in my case, 7 hours max). I don't know how much the circuit will cost, but the charger itself is pretty cheap, since Chevy has a deal with Bosch to give Spark EV owners a $500 discount. Plus the state will rebate half the cost of the installation up to $900, so I should be able to get in pretty reasonable.
As to public charging, there are many charging stations out there, but only a few that provide the fast DC charging option. In Baltimore metro area we have maybe three of these but more on the way. With the fast charger you get 80 percent charged in 20 minutes. And most public charging stations are FREE. It's just finding one that offers convenience. I have a free one 1/2 mile from my house, which can hold me over in a pinch until I get my own 240V charger.
How long is the battery supposed to last before it has to be replaced? How much does a new battery cost?
The battery has tested out at 200,000 cycles, which you can consider 200,000 days if you charge it once per day. And as to replacement cost, I'm leasing it for 39 months so it won't be an issue unless I decide to buy it out.
Bingo. It's the norm for non-VT schools, coaches come and go and are replaced all the time. No one on staff is petty enough to take any of this as a personal slight.
I've always considered that Bud's assistants answer to Bud, but I can't picture this guy answering to anyone but Fuente.
He answered to Larry Porter before he and Fuente were reunited. I'm thinking Bud Foster is a major step up in terms of bosses with a stellar football rsume. But that's just my opinion.
I had no idea that I was so interested in this until you posted it. Did you have to get a special outlet installed in your house? If so, how costly was it? How long is the battery supposed to last before it has to be replaced? How much does a new battery cost?
I will be there in Cassell tomorrow night wearing my lucky orange hat cheering our boys on.
THIS IS MY CALL TO ALL HOKIES...if you can make the game, and have the money to do so, BUY A TICKET AND GO. This team needs all the support and encouragement it can get, and we should back them just as much as the football team. Be LOUD, be PROUD...THIS IS HOME!!!
Did your power company give you a special rate? People at Tesla have told me that some companies will give you a discounted rate for going electric.
I would cut the cord but internet service in my area is dreadful. I pay $70/month for 10mbps internet with 300gb/month data cap. I hate it. Until I can get faster and cheaper Internet without a data cap (or bigger), I'm sticking with Dish.
Great! Good for recruiting, helping the D, and hopefully, cohesion among the coaches. Now they can finally have a staff meeting.
He seems like a great hire based on pedigree, but this just seems odd to me. I've always considered that Bud's assistants answer to Bud, but I can't picture this guy answering to anyone but Fuente.
All ESPN3 programming is freely available without any subscription. So you can use WatchESPN for those games, and you just can't access the stuff being broadcast on ESPN, 2, U, News, Classic, or The Ocho.
This is a long shot, and I'm not sure if this is the spot for this, but does anyone have two tickets to the game tomorrow night? I'm in Blacksburg if that helps at all
I am very excited about the staff that Fuente has put together. He appears to have set himself up for continued success and it should translate to consistently good Virginia Tech teams down the line.
God there reflexes are just stupid fast.
Whether it makes people uncomfortable or not, it's a perfectly acceptable, rational, and expected move by Fuente. He is, after all, the new guy on campus as well as the boss.
I'm sure Bud is comfortable enough in his own skin to deal with that reality, otherwise he wouldn't still be in Blacksburg. An added bonus is that Scott is probably a pretty talented coach who will eventually make Bud's life much easier. He's not just some plant by the new HC to put his stamp on the defense and assert authority.
I very highly doubt Bud would stand for that, and I very highly doubt Fuente is the kind of coach who would pull something like that. Everyone involved knows this can't work as an "us vs them" type of thing, it's all about getting people in place who are good at what they do and can work well together. If Scott helps Bud and Fuente work together better, then party on.

But what about "The Prophecy"??
