If the advisory board told him to stay, then he needs to stay. Those guys are usually pretty accurate, and I wouldn't doubt their opinion. Bucky still needs to prove himself on the field, and under Fuente he has a great chance to do that. Only way he should go IMO is if he doesn't want to risk injury, or if he doesn't like the new regime, and there isn't any sign of that.
Leave now and make a decent amount of money, or leave next year and make a shit ton of money.
Darren Evans also had a family to support - not sure he's a valid comparison either.
and Cunningham is more of an H-back type who can flex out wide. Burke and Cline are more of a traditional Y frame who can play on the LOS.
I may be wrong about Peoples, but after watching a ton of film from Fuente's offenses at TCU and Memphis I would bet that Peoples will be a tailback in his offense.
I thought a healthy Trevon Hill would be in the two deep in 2015. Based on his film, I would have taken him ahead of Josh Sweat. I think he is that good. It may not pan out, but I think he will be a good one. Fullwood isn't a natural DE in Foster's system. He played DT in high school and didn't fare well in the year end All Star game trying to play DT. I don't know that he has the edge twitch to be a DE. Again, I may be wrong and hope I am. If I had to rank the freshmen DE's, I would say Hill, Gaines, and then Fullwood.
I moved Baron to DE because 1) he has the smarts to play the position and be sound if Foster doesn't trust his DE depth and 2) the Hokies may not have the top end talent at DT, however they do have tremendous depth at the position.
I guess he forgot to watch the "Corey Moore Ain't Having It" video. Should be required team viewing before every bowl game. You're there for a reason, so NO DISTRACTIONS.

...
If the Draft Board says "stay in school", you stay in school.
We saw some drops this year, and the college program is a lot more forgiving than the NFL one. Maybe another year wouldn't hurt.
Chris Cunningham is a tight end though, why not Peoples and Sam Rogers? I hope my question does not sound ignorant, just curious, and French I asked on another thread but it is long gone and you would probably not see it now unless you scroll back through and read everything everyone wrote and asked but between Hill and Fullwood who do you think is the better DE based on what you have seen? I noticed when you mentioned D-line combinations you left Fullwood out but had Baron at DE.
He's got to do what's best for him and his family... but it might be better for him in the long run to play a year under Fuente and see if the new coach (and new QB) can't boost his numbers for a year. His measurable will always be there, NFL scouts just want to see him put it all together on the field.
Coming from someone married to a Vice President at a large digital firm, there might not be a more overrated position than "social media guru".
I think Bud is a brilliant DC, a good DB coach, and an average LB coach.
Everyone is certainly entitled to their opinion, popular or not, but I'm curious as to why you think he is a good DB coach. As far as I know he let's Torrian Gray run the show in the secondary, Foster has often given credit to Torrian for coming up with game plans to shut down opponents passing schemes (which goes above and beyond normal DB technique coaching).
When it comes to washout rate... I personally don't factor that into whether or not a coach is a good position coach. Just like I don't factor recruiting into that equation.
Ryan Williams was drafted in the early 2nd round.
I managed to hold it together until that line. I'm going to miss that man so much!
it's an assumption on my part, and i will have the red face of shame if i'm wrong, but i think Galen Scott is going to coach linebackers.
No I agree that to save characters is fine (i.e. You vs. u). But throwing your instead you're is just childish and looks like we don't know simple English. You can have steady content and be professional. Lots of accounts do it.
He has had some good ones but as of a couple years ago, the recruit washout rate at LB was the highest of any position on the team, by far. To be honest...and this won't be popular...I think Bud is a brilliant DC, a good DB coach, and an average LB coach.
And I can't imagine that Galen Scott, who has been a very successful LB coach, is one of Coach Fu's closest friends (former roomie and introduced him to Mrs. Fu), and is the current DC at Memphis, is coming to VT to take Cornell Brown's slot...essentially coaching no one. I think Bud will be DC and perhaps have some Assistant or Associate HC title along with Shibest.
All guesses/assumptions on my part, but we will see.
I saw KenPom had us that low, but most I've seen have us right around 200. Really it doesn't matter, the SOS is gonna go up once conference play starts. I think Buzz's comments related to playing Iowa State, St. Joes, West Virginia, UAB and Northwestern. Those are five tournament caliber teams. Even at Radford is a tough game considering they'd beaten two P5s and it's a local rivalry. That's leaps and bounds much tougher than UNI, PSU, and WVU from last season.
Bucky needs to look at what Ryan Williams and Darren Evans did when they left early. (different position obviously) Very athletic, good players who were done within two seasons after not being drafted very high
I think if he goes now it is just a mistake. If he had been a predicted day 1-2 I would understand but I have only seen him projected 4th or later. He has a chance to come back and play with what hopefully will be a renewed offense under Fuente and I really think could bump himself into a day 1-2 selection with a good season.
Bucky, Bucky.
I was thinking the exact same thing. I also want this team to come out like they are on fire, unlike we have in previous several bowl games They need to empty out the bag of trick plays. Reverses on kick returns, WR throws to the QB, and all out attempts on blocking kicks. Blocking a kick for a score would just be an unbelievable Christmas present.
Dumbasses. Think it will come up in a job interview?
I'm not certain one way or the other. Certainly one interpretation is that "balance" was achieved when Anakin helped bring the number of Jedi vs. Sith back to 2 v 2. (Sidious/Vader) v (Yoda/Kenobi). Certainly would not be the result the Jedi anticipated.
But, perhaps Vader helped bring balance to the Force by having Luke/Leia, who ultimately bring order and "good" back to the galaxy by the end of Ep 9. Maybe Vaders role was to have a child that passed the ultimate test from the Dark Side (from his own father), and then have that child bring him back.

I think some of it might depend on how many courses he has to finish. 3rd year at VT, he might be close to being done. Otherwise I wouldn't think he would still be mulling on the decision considering he didn't get a round grade. Hope he stays.
