OK, ya got me, Frankie. When he first became coach, I used to write him letters to show support and appreciation, letters he invariably answered. Once, he got me mixed up with someone else and wrote me a great thank you note for a bushel of apples someone had sent him. I wrote him back to correct the record, and he wrote again, still expressing his gratitude for my being a fan who cared enough to write. I wrote for the last time begging him not to move to North Carolina, promising never to bother him again if he would stay. I think I'm about to break that promise and write him one more time.
Thanks for posting this article. It was just a perfect way to tell the story of a great career. Pass the Kleenex, honey.
Yes, a top three ranking from Athlon Sports really makes up for the constant typos and mistakes. Most people, like myself, don't have a problem with the direction. It's the sloppiness that has come along with it.
This.
Entertainment is entertainment, and we all invest a healthy (or unhealthy) portion of our time and disposable income on it in some form or another. I agree, there are gamers who have crossed into addiction territory. And there are Hokie fans who have done the same.
Well in all fairness Rylo has been shot when he fought her.
But your point is well taken.
Mine will be better when I get home from work... :(
Great read about a great man.
Yep been super busy. Email is coming today for my lineup
Just for clarification, was the head of the household wrestled to the ground and pinned?
Here are everyone's rosters as of Christmas Eve morning. Note that these are not necessarily the starting lineups, nor are they necessarily the final rosters entering this week. Just a snapshot.
Also worth noting - ESPN did not lock rosters. If you're eliminated, please do not make any roster moves. They will eventually be undone, but since I won't be around much until Sunday/Monday, it could be a big cause of confusion.

HANG ON, I'VE GOT MY TICKET!!

I admit I was one of the people that was calling for a change in staff. Since Ive gotten it and Ive gotten it in the most amazing and perfect way possible, (Scandal free, no firing drama, nobody getting shafted, our coach getting all the honors he deserves, then getting a new coach thats almost universally deemed the number 1 coaching hire) I have vowed to not make a peep about coaching change regarding on field performance for a MINIMUM of 3 years. Even if were 1-11 the next 3 seasons not until the end of the third am I gonna allow myself to consider talking change. If were actually doing mediocre I can probably go 5. Random? Perhaps, but everyone needs goals.
They were definitely better than past movies, I completely agree with you. But they had no where to go but up. They were still pretty darn awful in this movie, leaving me and my friends laughing at their pathetic incompetency. I mean come on, they missed so many easy shots with people's back towards them it isn't even funny....buuuut I will admit it would kinda ruin everything if Rey or Finn got shot...people would riot if they were shot and the scene cut and that was that lol
If I'm outside of Islay, my go-to is Aberlour, though I've never had the really, really good Obans. Ardbeg Uigeadail is hands down my favorite scotch, though. It's like an Islay that grew up in the Highlands.
It's been years since I had a cigar, but I always preferred maduros.
I hope he does well post-VT. It was never his fault that Frank left him in the OC position way longer than he should have, and speaks tons about his character that he stayed with the program after stepping down as OC. I'm not sure whether the better career path for him would be head coach of a DIII school or a TE coach at a P5, though. He's obviously got a knack for turning out great TEs, and I'd bet the money's better as a position coach at a P5.
I am hooked on the Highland Scotches.... Dalhwinne and Oban are my favorites. They give all the right notes without a dominant peatey taste. I know a lot of the single malt drinkers love the strong smokey influences of the Islay brands but I prefer the cleaner character of Highland and Speyside. To each his own. Also, I like bourbon by itself but most enjoy my scotch with a nice Arturo Fuente Churchill Natural...
But then that means we punted.
Multiple times.

I really can't wrap my head around spending hundreds of dollars on a game.
how many VT football games have you attended? How much do you pay for cable to watch games on TV? The way I see it, you're (probably) spending hundreds of dollars on a game but you're not even playing it. You're (probably) spending hundreds of dollars to watch other people play a game. Do you consider your Hokie fandom to be an addiction?
I really can't wrap my head around spending hundreds of dollars on a game. I understand everyone has different hobbies but I think this is more of an addiction.
I stand corrected sir!
I have a hard time downvoting just for "noise" though. I only really DV if someone posts something really inappropriate. I have never before serial downvoted someone's posts until Shockwave. If you looked at my DV history I would bet that probably about 75% of my total DVs over the last 3 years were given to random Shockwave posts in the last week.
But to expand on your point, my thought process is a little different than yours. Yes, you're right that responding to his comments just adds to the noise but ultimately it resulted in a fairly swift ban of his account. So there was a huge uptick of noise in a short span of time but the end result is we get no more consistent noise from his spam posts anymore. If we don't add to the noise initially we likely have to deal with his consistent worthless spam posting for the long term.
IDK about you or anybody else on TKP but my preference is to have a 36 hour period filled with lots of noise rather than a constant "hum", if you will, for a much much longer period of time. I think of it like this. I would rather spend an hour in an environment where I have to wear ear-plugs than live in an environment where I don't have to wear ear-plugs but the vacuum is running constantly.
*cough* Shockwave *cough*
I believe I'm in the same boat as you and Steve^ here. Right now, it's a lame-duck game that I don't care who wins or loses. That generally tends to change after the opening kickoff
Oh please please! Can't wait to hear announcers say ".....and there's another long Long punt for Virginia Tech!"

Pillar of all things that were "right" through the evolution of America's greatest game imo.
