Thanks for that, French. I know I need to learn to lift the load myself, but am appreciative that you took time off of your busy holiday schedule to post that shot. Dave's 81 year old father landed the biggun after a momentous fight, and I was with them last year when we got him a 45 lber, so he's doing quite well for any age! I will give the nod to the fish, this time though. I couldn't believe how hard that fish fought. Dave's dad was worn out and white as a ghost when we got it in, but what a way to celebrate the ending of the rockfish season. I've said it before and will repeat myself, I'd rather catch them jigging on light tackle, but it's hard to beat eeling for big fish.

Edit: While I don't care much for striper, Dave smokes the big fish and it is an absolute delicacy when it comes off of the smoker. French, Dave said next time we get together, he'll have some of that smoked rock for ya.

Coaches say it, Scouts say it, Analysts say it, stars mean absolutely nothing dont matter in the way we look at recruits for the most part, I think thats a better way of stating that? .

I just like that Fuente came in day 1 and hit the ground running.

This doesn't bother me. Not really sure why. If you've got the money, and as long as it's not public money, go for it. College football is a business now whether you like it or not.

I lived in West AJ and used to eat at Cochrane all the time. They served the same food as Dietrick but it was cooked in smaller quantities so it seemed to be "better". I believe after 6 or 630 it was Cochrane residents only so anyone could eat there until that time. It was also a lot smaller, it was really expanded when they built West End.

West End was the cafeteria for the athlete only dorm ("NUF" - New Undergraduate Facility). When athlete only dorms were banned by NCAA, it became available for all students. Eventually it was turned into what you see today.

They had also tried to get Lawson the guy who played Wedge to come back but he wasn't interested, so I feel like there was a conscious effort to build up Po to replace him, and then yeah just killing him off doesn't make a lot of sense.

Just based off of how engaged he was with everyone and talking to everyone after plays, etc. when he was hurt, I can see Brewer being a great coach down the line. It'd be pretty cool to see Lefty and Brewer team up and run a good offense somewhere (as long as it's not against VT of course..)

Yes, West End used to be an athletes only dining hall called Cochran Dining hall (Possibly football only but I'm not too sure). But in 1999, they changed it to West End dining hall and made it available to all students.

Unfortunately, I can't find anything online to confirm this but, as a former Hokie Ambassador, I use to mention this tidbit while giving campus tours.

I went to Tulsa for a day back in 2000 or so, to watch a practice round of the US Open golf tournament at Southern Hills Country Club. It was ungodly hot, but I did find some shade as apparently 27 of Oklahoma's 36 trees are in Tulsa. I did nothing else there, except notice that coincidentally I was in Oklahoma the morning Timothy McVeigh was executed. OK!
