Buzz seems to think pure man to man is the best fit, while I agree with your assessment, it puts us behind the interior penetration to often either by pass or drive. Our bigs need to concentrate down low until they can cover off the dribble.

and there goes another easy offensive rebound and soft put back because we cant seem to maintain position underneath. Its killing us on both ends.

It has often been said that Rogers knows more about the offense than any of the players. He requested time with Moorehead to work on his pass-catching two years ago, is probably the most knowledgable RB on the roster, and when RB meetings would end during the summer, went and spent time in the QB room with Loeffler to learn more about what they were doing. Beyond being a natural leader, the kid works his ass off to learn whatever he can. I think that sets him on the right path. He's taking the opportunity to improve his football IQ, which by all accounts is pretty high to begin with.

Really good striper fishing in the Bay yesterday at mouth of the Rapp and out on light tackle. Friend of mine pulled in a 34" and lots of fish over 20". Birds everywhere he said. Not sure if I'll be able to get out there, will report if I do. I am planning on heading to Charleston for 5-6 days around NYE to party with some Hokies and chase schooled up winter redfish with the fly rod.

Momma was from Charleston, know a couple of guides down there. Great city, great folks, and great inshore fishing. Good luck and Happy New Year to you.

Or, D'BUAINT, so it's pronounceable? HELP.

I'm quite certain it's supposed to be pronounced "Kevin"

On paper that sounds like he's putting together a pretty legit staff, but I'd have to think Durkin is going to have to manage a lot of egos, I mean thats three guys now who have been 'the-guy', the ones to make the final decisions and now they're answering to a first year HC.

It could be great having those minds all together on committee on how to best build the program, but it could be a dumpster fire, they dont necessarily exude success.

I would be a little cautious if that were Virginia Tech, it seems pretty risky.

Then what's the point?

If you're going to post a link that hides everything behind a pay wall, you might as well be posting a link to a Mickey Mouse Club fansite, because it's got about the same amount of useful content pertaining to Virginia Tech football.

I think Fuente did that at Memphis and it was lauded as a great move by a guy with no HC experience to have former HCs on staff to have someone with that experience on staff. I think this is a good move by Durkin.

Biggest frustration to me is knowing who their top players are coming in and letting them score more than their game average in the first half. No one else is having to do anything for St Joes because Bembry and Miles are having a field day. You cant let their top two scorers have open looks essentially every trip down the court if you hope to win. Those two have scored 29 of St Joes 35 points so far. Shut them down and force someone else to do something in the second half or face getting blown out.

Interesting to see Hamilton back from suspension. The program didnt put anything out about that before hand.

Terrible shooting is killing us though, 38% from the field and 14% from behind the arc. Wilson, Bibbs and Allen a combined 0-6 from outside. Really was hoping to see a Clarke/Hudson pairing to energize this team and get to the basket.

We also only got to the line 4 times in the first half, compared to our average of 14 first half attempts. This comes primarily because we are forcing up jump shots rather than taking the ball to the rim.
