I would say huge props, but if a player ever has the thought "I could die if I go back out there," then there is absolutely no reason whatsoever they should keep playing. This makes me pissed at team doctors for not diagnosing Exum before he kept playing. Exum was placed on the IR two days after this game.
he played through a rib fracture and an AC joint injury in the same game
I respect the toughness, to a point. Personally I feel like we shouldn't be praising anyone for playing through such serious injuries. Sends the wrong message to high schoolers.

# | ESPN: Which college football program made the best coaching hires? Of course a school is going to deny offering the job to somebody after they turn it down...
But it's such a weird setting to have 2 Chainzz, OCMS, and Kendrick Lamar concerts in Burruss. If we had a multi-purpose arena, we could attract country musicians, rock bands, and rappers to campus which would be a boon for the university.
ECU 2014 comes to mind. Jump ball after jump ball after jump ball. Looked like balls were thrown with a lot of arc and behind the intended target the entire game. Seemed like Riley figured out that the corners would either run into the receiver resulting in PI or get beat by larger athletic WRs on jump balls. Gamble paid off in a big way and all of a sudden that big win at OSU lost it's luster.
I couldn't agree more. If Alexander hadn't been looking back and the receiver slows for the catch, given our history there's a better than even chance we get that PI flag thrown on us. I'm convinced this is a clear tactic that has been used against us the past couple seasons to great effect.

Just about to post about this good timing.
Being in Wisconsin I've heard some of the inside scoop. Apparently Bo wanted to retire last year but stuck around due to one of Gard's (assistant) parents having cancer.
Furthermore he really wanted the job to go to his assistant (who will be the interim coach) but the athletic department wanted a bigger hire. I assume this was a little planned out as well. The department has no choice but to make the assistant the coach and this can be a bit of a tryout period. If the rest of the season goes well or above expectations expect him to stick around for now. Especially because the team has struggled thus far, they're young but really talented.
If not I fully expect the badgers athletic department to shell out some big bucks for tony. The basketball program is HUGE here and they have the 7th (check my facts) highest profit margin in the NCAA for athletic departments. The money is there and its a great fan base. If they come calling I wholly expect Bennet to go running.

I'm going to be 100% honest, the entire organizational structure of the football program is a complete flustercuck to me. I NEED A CHART.
I agree.. UVA can pay as much or more than Wisconsin. Plus ACC basketball > Big14 basketball.
Yeah I don't see Bennett going to Wisky. Bo Ryan timed this retirement to force Barry Alvarez into giving Greg Gard the interim tag for the rest of the year, and essentially passing to torch to Gard long-term. Fully expect that interim tag to be made into a permanent hire by the end of the season.

Playing with a lead and dominating are very different. Being ahead 21-14 or 24-14 later in the games can really change what the defense needs to do vs being down 24-14 in the 4th. Just being able to move the ball, win field position and capitalize on field position will be a HUGE improvement for us next year if we can accomplish that. We don't need to put up 40 a game for the offense to help our defense.

How do you know that this is the kind of thing she brings to the team? She's the Director of Football Operations, not Director of Recruiting. Also she comes from Texas Tech.. not exactly a recruiting powerhouse. Obviously you have to start somewhere but I'd have preferred someone from a stronger program. I am thrilled that we hired someone with P5 experience though.
I agree, but then again I thought the same thing with Shaka Smart at VCU. If Wisconsin goes all out, it could get interesting.
Yea, he built UVa from the ground up, and he seems to like Charlottesville.
I guess you never know, though. Wisconsin is probably his if he wants it.
They need to throw a lot of money at him. He grew up in Madison his dad is a legend here there's a good bit of history between him and the badgers and one hell of a program setup here for him
Very good point that goes back to recruiting over the past couple of years. We have become too thin at almost all positions. Hopefully this can turn around soon.
