That dude has some speed but also really nice vision. A lot of those plays he found a seam and turned on the jets rather than running backwards because he knows he is faster than everyone.

They have quite the budget for a grounds crew too. Awesome high school field.

I only watched a few minutes but on a lot of those plays he wasn't even blocked or attempted to be blocked. He had some quick hands on other plays but man, how is he not accounted for every play by the offense.

Thomas Rawls and blount HAD to go down, and sanders got me a whopping -.3 points.... meanwhile Crowell sitting on my bench has a career day. so salty right now I thought I had an amazing team put together

From Hokiesports:

Bartelstein joins Virginia Tech after stints working in football operations and recruiting at both Texas Tech and TCU. The University of Illinois graduate served as the director of football relations at Texas Tech from January of 2013 through April of 2015. She oversaw all football recruiting operations for the Red Raiders, while developing and implementing recruiting strategies, as well as organizing all on-campus recruiting events. She also corresponded with prospective student-athletes, families and high school coaches in addition to directing all incoming football student-athletes and their families through the admissions process.

Her association with Coach Fuente dates back to January of 2010 when she was named the assistant director of football operations and recruiting at TCU when Fuente served as offensive coordinator on head coach Gary Patterson's staff. Bartelstein previously worked in marketing for the athletics department at Stanford University, in addition to assisting with Stanford Football camps. She also volunteered as a recruiting assistant for football during her undergraduate tenure at Illinois, where she also directed summer football camps for the Illini.

I think this hire rocks.

my understanding is that the ACC transfer limit is on non-qualifiers out of H.S. who then went to JUCO. It's also 4 men and 4 women per year across all sports.

ACC allows an unlimited # of JUCO transfers or graduates (associates degree) who were qualifiers out of H.S.

Not 100% sure if graduating from JUCO with an associates degree moves a non-qualifier out of that category, but I think it does since Daniel Rodriquez was offered an invited walk-on spot pending his Associates Degree, and he was definitely a non-qualifier out of high school. (Clemson football sought and was granted a waiver that allowed immediate eligibility for Rodriguez so he skipped his associates degree)

gotcha, that was at TTU though. Was hoping for some direct insight into her expected duties @VT going forward. With that background I'd say it's a safe bet that even if she's not actively involved in managing recruiting, she's going to contribute to a culture shift that leads to improvement in our recruiting & scouting operations.

Also, I don't see her being out of football / athletics for a season being a positive.
