The stands are dark on purpose. The showcase is the court and the game, not the fans. I do see how it comes off almost dingy looking, but that may change when new seats are installed since it will most likely be a darker color cushion as opposed to natural wood.
Even taking the above comments into consideration, I think some look at it as VT needs to get top recruits to be successful, regardless of where they come from. But if there are top recruits in Virginia, as the top (I would hope) football power in the state, we should be getting those consistently as well.
From a national standpoint, it isn't specifically a VT problem, but is widespread at schools around the country (except for the Alabama's of the world), that top talent is leaving the state (or going to the other guy).
If we are in need of (for example) a DE, and one of the top prospects is from VA and says "no way, Jose" instead of just saying "later, we didn't need you anyway," it's worth talking about the why.
Any video of this? Such a small thing but it instantly made me excited thinking about this.
Why not buy tickets through the school?
Any advice on what part of the stadium to sit in? Stubhub has a bunch of options. I assume VT side but didn't know if one area was a lot better than others.

And the play before THAT was an inverted veer read, a play that Loeffler ran a ton with Logan Thomas and was the basis of his "Motley Package".
For what it's worth, I clicked on the link and randomely clicked on the time line. Very first play I saw was 13:50 (backed it up a little, play starts around 13:48). That's as "classic Loeffler" as a short yardage pass gets.

Yulee is going to have to go to prep school for a year so we have a shot, although most insiders seem to think he isn't interested in VT. If Haskins leaves, we have a good shot at Ellis don't think it is realistic otherwise

# | Per Memphis Beat Writer, New Hokie OL Coach Vance Vice to join VT immediately Undoubtedly. But if you gave Loeffler Fuente's talent, and Fuente Loeffler's talent (even with the injuries) there is no doubt in my mind Fuente would still outperfrom Loeffler.
His teams execute at a much higher level. Some of that is due to more effective coaching, but mostly because Fuente's offensive system is simpler (his players execute with higher confidence because they know what they are supposed to be doing) and Fuente uses a smaller variety of formations but a wider variety of plays (much less likely to tip off the defense to what is coming based on formation or personnel grouping). In the future, I'll be giving a much more indepth article.

This is true, but I think I remember there being 12-15 recruits in the ESPN 300 from VA last season, and close to that the season before. Still not close to FL/CA/TX, but I'd say above average for the population that VA has.
After doing the above research I wondered how Tech has performed when it was a serious underdog. Starting with the 1994 season, the Hokies have been a 14 point or greater underdog only six times. Tech went 3 - 3 -0 against the spread, but the team lost all six games.
Thank you for stating this. I'm tired of this mentality that we have to get all the top recruits in VA in order to be successful.
Recruits are teenagers, they have many different reasons for wanting to go to a college. I selected VT because I liked the engineering program, not because it was in-state. At the time, VCU was starting their engineering school, and was offering a lot of incentives for new engineering students. But I already loved VT, so that didn't happen. I'm sure many of these kids have similar mindsets.
In addition, like French said, we are pulling recruits from other states. In my opinion, I would push on this. Why? Well because that means that VT is actually bigger than it is now. You need to pull recruits who work best for the school, so why limit yourself to just VA. Lets get some big hog mollies from the midwest, some high flying wide receivers from Florida, etc.
The world has changed, we can't just focus on VA. I feel like this comes up at least once a week, and I truly believe it is recruiting with blinders on.
I think DJ Rhetoric should send one of those hats to Frank. Or maybe just some Arbys coupons.
It's been about 18 for the men (36 with women's) the last couple seasons. Not that we have countdowns or anything.
