# | Fuente Kicks Off Recruiting Effort with Outreach to 2016/2017 Commits and Recruits The article contradicts itself in order to try to make a point. How is it that the ratings have remained consistent, yet the recent mediocrity is due to losing high profile players?
The mediocrity has little to due with losing 1 or 2 high profile players...it mostly has to do with whiffing in 2011 & 2012 with the classes that the recruiting services rated as normal for VT. And that was compounded by the injury bug that mostly eluded VT for many years being particularly bad at key positions and/or key players the last 3 years. But those things don't make for good copy.
Hudson with the start and we have a Tyrone sighting early.
Coming next year to the LOLUVa Tech game:

Though, to be fair, we've been doing this to them for 12 years straight, metaphorically speaking.
702. High flying offenses #goacc
I do not think Fuente could get rid of Gentry on his own, but he could request Whit make a change if he felt it was warranted, and my gut says that Whit would oblige a request from his newest and highest paid employee. I believe you are correct that Gentry's purview extends beyond football, but he is still heavily involved in football since it is the biggest sport. He is on the sidelines for games and travels with the team to away games.
Its game time. Hopefully someone recaps the first half as I am stuck at Mt Vernon with family

well, we have two top ten teams battling it out for conference champion. That's more than the SEC can say.
Just barely

I would say he is trying to make sure the commits we already have are locked down before going after commits to other schools or uncommitted recruits

or Memphis's - when it's a singular noun, can do it either way.
434. I'm gonna say UNC goes for 165ish and runs a lot and Clemson at 279 because I'm in the 434
Tech plays four teams with new coaches next year: Miami, LOLUVA, ECU and Syracuse.
That's awesome.
Agreed. I suspected something was up when Hamilton played so little and was pulled so quickly when it seemed like we really could've used his presence vs Northwestern.
Glad Pierce stayed prepared and looked ready to go. Hamilton blocked a lot of shots in limited minutes hopefully Henry can give us some of that in the meantime.
Awesome, thanks. I just saw Watkins over at 247 posted about it as well (non-insider article).
Atlantic is making some good hires too Syracuse got Dino Babers today and I do believe we play them next year. He was the coach at Bowling Green who won against Northern Illinois yesterday to win the MAC conference championship.
^- THIS. I'm so excited for next season to start that I can't sleep anymore!

Definitely....
Tavante Beckett 3* OLB at Indian River is committed to us, they also got 4* ILB Jaquan Yulee who is committed to Alabama, and 2017 5* #1 Safety nationally Devon Hunter who also plays Dual Threat QB.
2 LBs on Indian River.
-Tavante Beckett (VT Commit)
-Jaquan Yulee (Bama Commit)
