ND & FSU are irrelevant. Both will have one two less wins than UNC (if UNC wins) and a loss to Clemson. UNC will leapfrog them easily if they win.

But getting into the top 4 might still be difficult.

What's funny is their website shows the latest tweets from Mr. Anderson (@beamer_ball), the guy who just took the handle, and there is a big fat "Hello!" tweet sitting down there. Hope they clean that up quick. They're lucky Mr. Anderson hasn't tweeted out anything blasting the Hokies or anything explicit in nature.

Spurrier abandoned his team because he had no stake in them, didn't care anymore, and was worried about himself more than his players. Anyone who has ever spent years building or organizing something and then has to hand it off knows how hard it is to let go of all that work and pride you have poured in, always wanting just a little more time to perfect it. Spurrier was selfish, Frank was selfless.

At what point does moving defensive coaches to offense hurt the defense though? Offensive staff already outnumbers defensive 5-4, not including the hc

It would be difficult to leave Mississippi State, a real football program that's competitive in the SEC, for UVa. I mean, why would a coach do that if they weren't forced out?

I disagree about Mullen, I have read that he enjoys being in Starkville and at Miss State and I don't see him leaving for awhile. He was my top choice for Tech, but I think it's also going to be hard to up the ante with his paygrade at Mizzou or UVA.

And Dykes hates it at Cal. So, that would give him some reason to leave but he should probably pick a place that isn't so pretentious to move to.

Beamer made the decision, and announced it early, because he didn't want to divide Hokie Nation, not because he wanted a farewell tour.

The farewell tour just sort of came together both spontaneously and will a little help from Whit and the VT organization and fan support.

The farewell tour was organic, not fabricated. Beamer got it for 29 years of service. He did a lot for VT, and we all recognize that. Spurrier wouldn't have gotten the same treatment, no matter how carefully they'd have tried to orchestrate it.

Dr. Peter Venkman: This city is headed for a disaster of biblical proportions.

Mayor: What do you mean, "biblical"?

Dr Ray Stantz: What he means is Old Testament, Mr. Mayor, real wrath of God type stuff.

Dr. Peter Venkman: Exactly.

Dr Ray Stantz: Fire and brimstone coming down from the skies! Rivers and seas boiling!

Dr. Egon Spengler: Forty years of darkness! Earthquakes, volcanoes...

Winston Zeddemore: The dead rising from the grave!

Dr. Peter Venkman: Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together... mass hysteria!

Mayor: All right, all right! I get the point!
