I wrote a separate post below but here are more examples - on November 22, the VT FB account posted a very sweet picture of Cheryl and Frank walking off of the field arm-in-arm. With no acknowledgement of who took the photo. It was Greg Moore's photo that was taken off of his Facebook page.

On October 26, the account tweeted "Good luck to @Bruce Arians & #BirdGang on @ESPNMonday Night. Go @AZCardinals" - Virginia Tech should not be cheering for one NFL team going against another. I'm happy for the Bruce Arians shoutout - he is a Hokie, but it needs to stop there. I think that's enough from me for today.

Selfishly, I'm kind of hoping for not the Belk Bowl, because I'm not off that day while I'm off for most of the other ACC bowl days.

But on the other hand, while the Military Bowl would be perfect for my schedule, I don't want to go up against Navy this year.

Taylor Zarzhour Chris Childers tried to imply (actually used the words) that he was "forced" to retain Bud Foster. Justin didn't fall for it. Ignored the question and just explained how he met with him several times, talked philosophy, and made his decision.

Wiggins and Fuente were both asked point blank to describe their offensive philosophy and both said that it's important to tailor the offense to the talent on the roster. This is the most exciting point to me. It seems that over the last 15 years VT has been trying to run a system offense with guys who don't necessarily fit the system. It's refreshing to hear that these coaches want to come in and build an offense around the players here instead of trying to find players to fit a specific scheme. Music to my ears.

Nothing will be official until next Sunday after the top pairings in the College Football Playoff and New Year's Six bowls are announced, but Virginia Tech appears to be in good shape to go to one of the four Tier 1 bowls -- Belk (Charlotte), TaxSlayer (Jacksonville), Pinstripe (New York) or Sun (El Paso). Here's why:

Clemson looks like a good bet to make it to the College Football Playoff. The Tigers should be decent favorites against North Carolina in the ACC championship game.

Notre Dame, despite its loss last night to Stanford, almost assuredly will still get an invite to one of the New Year's Six bowls, taking the Fighting Irish out as a possible impediment in the ACC's bowl lineup.

North Carolina or Florida State has a chance at earning a New Year's Six invite as well. One of those two will in all likelihood end up in the Russell Athletic Bowl, which has the first pick off ACC teams once the NY6 games are set.

It's possible that only leaves two 8-4 teams -- Miami and Pittsburgh -- left as locks for the four Tier 1 bowls, which have equal footing on the league's selection totem poll. In a worst-case scenario, if the ACC doesn't get a second non-Notre Dame team selected for the NY6, either FSU or UNC would go to Russell Athletic, leaving the other to fall into a Tier 1 bowl. That's still only three teams in Tier 1, leaving an opening for ...

Virginia Tech. The Hokies couldn't have jumped an 8-4 team into the Tier 1 bowls, but they can jump 7-5 teams. And with Louisville, N.C. State and Duke all sitting at 7-5, Tech can be selected ahead of all three.

Given the irresistible storyline surrounding Tech with it being Beamer's last game, expect the Hokies to be a very attractive team in this selection process. Bowls exist primarily to sell tickets. And for a bowl that's going to have to accept a 6-6 or 7-5 team, what's going to sell more tickets than a Hall of Fame coach's swan song? I look at Charlotte, only 2 1/2 hours from Blacksburg (depending on how fast you drive) and see enormous potential for ticket sales. Plus, that stadium was home to Beamer's final ACC championship game win, so there's some nostalgia to it. The same can be said of Jacksonville, where the Hokies won an ACC title game and played in the Gator Bowl a few times. New York would be an interesting farewell, with that game played in Yankee Stadium, although that seems like an odd way to end a career. The Hokies have been to El Paso so recently that I can't imagine they would go back.

Here's guessing it'll be the Belk Bowl against a team from the SEC (LSU maybe? Mississippi State? Arkansas?), and that a horde of Hokies fans descend on Charlotte for one final Beamer sendoff.

How do you reserve tickets (if it isn't too late)? I'm less than an hour from Charlotte so the Belk Bowl would be hella convenient.

It's not the voice so much as the message. The VT Football twitter account should NOT be rooting for the Buffalo Bills - we can root for Tyrod, but they should not endorse the Bills. In addition, I'm pretty sure there are other Hokies in the NFL would could actually benefit from the publicity that Pete only piles on Tyrod. LOTS OF TYROD tweets. LOTS.

The blurry picture from last night speaks for itself. My main issue with Pete Moris is that he tweets things from his personal account that should be tweeted from the FB account - last night, he thanked the cheerleaders for greeting Fuente at the airport, only after HokiESQ did BTW, but this acknowledgement should have come from the FB account. After repeatedly answering questions to the FB account from his personal Twitter account, I told him that several of these tweets would help the general audience, he said he would stop using his personal account (in September). This lasted all of 2 days, almost forcing Twitter followers to follow him so we don't miss any info.

He brought the paragraph spacing with him from Oklahoma - you know, the tweets that take up an entire phone screen. This is not young and hip - this is a tool used by promoted tweets. I want more information and less scrolling. Very few other accounts use this. I've been researching the Memphis football Twitter - it's what you would expect of Twitter - some cuteness, personality, but to the freaking point. I don't think he is doing all of the tweets. This morning, there have been lots of normal tweets - I've liked lots of them. A student may be doing these since they are Pete's style.

This is, obviously, a very sore spot for me. Whit or Desiree Reed-Francois, who I think hired Pete, needs to get a committee together to at least gather feedback. I have lots of comments and screen captures... These are MY opinions about the message and format. I love the fact that VT Football has >72K followers while Memphis football has 4,314, of which I am one.

You should look at other possible locations and matchups. I have heard the Belk Bowl wants Tennessee and likely won't take us if they get them. Nashville for the Music City Bowl or the Jacksonville for the Tax Slayer Bowl are also possibilities I have seen.
