Tyrod is the only NFL starting QB who is a VT alum. Taylor is also playing very well. QB is a very high profile position even compared to all-pro Safety (bam-bam) It's very wise for VT Football to remind fans, potential fans, and potential recruits of the greatness that comes from Blacksburg. Hyping a 2nd string OL (e.g. Will Montgomery) doesn't have the same impact.

I'm going to assume that "stealing" means getting a recruit from the state of VA. Jimbo has had a total of 5 recruits from VA, since he became head coach in 2010:
Levenberry '13, Nandi '14, Eberle '14, Taylor '15, Sweat '15.
On the flip side, we average 2 - 3 Florida recruits a year.
With great players like Dadi, Maddy, Ford, Hosley, Flowers, Clowney (I'm sure I'm forgetting some) and Lydon/Lawson TBD, I think FSU has more to gripe about than we do.
Really don't have much to add outside of saying I think you're spending too much time worrying about a complete non-issue.

No. This is not an excuse. I'm a photographer, and 17 year old girls that I covered prom pictures for gave me more picture credit than Pete gives.

The reason I wrote this post is because I figured that the audience for a college football team is 20-54 year olds, not teenagers. I use it to to consume as much relevant news as efficiently as possible.
We could play Indiana in the bowl game in Detroit.
It all seems about right to me.
Call me nostalgic, but I kinda want to see us in the Independence Bowl against Indiana. Frank's last bowl being the same as his first.
Edit: I know the SEC has ties and enough eligible teams to fill their slots, but I still want to see it. Otherwise I'm OK with Belk or Military Bowls

Couple key statements of interest to me
-The offense is not trying to score the most points in the country at any cost. The offense is trying to score points while not burning out the defense. (As if the defense hasn't already been hung out to dry on three and outs for years)
-The offensive scheme will be suited toward personnel.
-Said his program running ideas were directly taken from Patterson. (Who I think runs a model program)
-Said coaching is about the kids next 40 years, not 4.
-Said first reason he answered the call about the job was because of Whit.

Yeah, it's hard to predict what a chaos scenario might do. All told, I hope Clemson and Bama win to make those two obvious. Oklahoma is in. Then it's just the fourth spot. Doubt that Stanford is going to jump all 3 B1G teams, given that they'd all have 1 loss compared to Stanford's 2 (yes, that's superficial in a sense, but would cause quite a commotion if it happened). Net effect is probably the PAC-12 is out of the CFP this year. If everything holds firm as it is, ND should get a NY6 based on name alone.
...and could the reason you've never seen it coached on the sideline in Div I before (in game 12, no less) maybe provide some insight into the problem?
lets see... college football programs rely on being cool in the eyes of 14-18 year olds with football talent and being cool in the eyes of 30-80 year olds with steady incomes.
1) Which one of these two groups uses twitter more? I wont even get into yik yak, whatsapp, snapchat, vine, and periscope.
2) Knowing the answer to #1, which group should the twitter account try and appeal to when it comes to posting style?

I don't think it was forced, but it's a very smart move by Fuente to not force out a DC that's super popular with players and fans if the DC is willing to stick around. If after a year the two of them can't work together and Bud moves on no one will be that mad at Fuente. But if Fuente's first big act as HC was showing Bud the door? That's something you'd have to be RichRod-level dumb to do.
I think it has less to do with Brewer having little faith in his OL and more of being a cerebral QB who understands what an opposing defense is capable of against the offense he is in command of. Just because UVa only had 4 wins this season doesn't mean their defensive front is a set of cupcakes...they had a lot of close losses, just like we did.
And now I'm going to have to go shower in bleach the rest of today for sort of complimenting UVa...ugh.
