I like that Fuente is offensive minded but he's taking his "how to run a program" methodology directly from a defensive minded coach. That is a beautiful combination, IMO. I think defensive minded coaches are extremely successful as head coaches (Saban, Beamer) but offense is supremely important in CFB these days. I think Fuente gives us the best of both worlds and that's awesome. He understands defense and it's importance to the game of football but he's an offensive tactician with a proven track record. I'm enamored by this guy. I think VT just put themselves in a really good position to get back to, and potentially exceed, the glory years of Frank's Heyday

Bud Foster says he stayed because of family, roots, etc. "but most importantly I want to win championships." Says Fuente can help do that.— Kyle Bailey (@TheClubhouseKB) November 30, 2015
Make sure your info is correct, I received a very nice car magnet and several window stickers when I joined last year and received another package this year with another magnet and some more stickers and a thank you letter.
Our overall marketing is so much better under Whit. The difference that he's made is very visible. Tons more outreach, spreading the base and hitting multiple platforms. I used to roll my eyes anytime Weaver mentioned "our marketing experts..." because what invariably followed was just lame. Those same marketing experts were used as the excuse for not painting the field for years, missing out on inherent brand visibility for the school from broadcasts, along with numerous other "points left on the field." They were little things and obviously the program survived but I find Whit's energy and action to seize the day very refreshing. Twitter skews young and less formal, it also drives eyeballs to content. Whether that's a news story or a potential Hokie checking out our university or a recruit looking at our program. I am 38 and don't mind it a bit - I've never been evenly slightly embarrassed about anything on VT's twitterings.
I feel confident this is how Fuente will operate (especially after hearing him in the presser). Shane may already have an offer and so the lack of discussion on him means little. We will see.
yet we are not an efficient passing team even with some of the weapons on hand? Ford already transferred, durkin got passed by DL and DL was the only one i'd consider a "highly touted" QB. The rest were mid-range 3 star guys. None of these "highly touted" guys could beat out brewer last year, awful statistically, or motley this year when brewer went down.
Stripped of GM position. Given one more year since he had two 10 win seasons before this one, then given the boot after next year. I predict an blue blood school will be calling his name after next year.....like Auburn (just a guess probably not)
would be awesome
Brad Cornelsen is Co OC and QB .. candidate for Broyles Award
Dear lord, if he gets that award, and follows Fuente here, we would have a Broyles Award winner leading both our offense and our defense. Is there any other staff in the nation that would have that?
doubt Freeze is interested in any job openings. He is Ole Miss through and through. Have you read that anywhere?
Anywhere but da U and loluva are fine with me. Honestly could see him at the Titans next year with Mariota.
As long as they don't throw an offer at the next eds-hole that walks past the door, they should be okay.
(You aren't kidding; it's hard making fun of the terminally pathetic)
So....what happens to Chip Kelly?
Zarzhour was pushing the "surprised Bud stayed after being snubbed" line pretty hard during their 8AM segment on Sirius XM. Surprised me that 1) they're so out of touch with the internal reactions 2) they're working so hard to make a story here. It was surprisingly low content from one of the better talk shows on Sirius.
Agreed. CJF cleared up my question for me in the press conference.
*5-2 this season, 6-2 overall. He coached the 2013 Las Vegas bowl.
I've heard rumors of Bud getting bumped up to $1.4M. That would leave $2M for eight other positions, which seams reasonable.
Just 'bustin ya chops', as they say....
Is there a Cyber Monday discount so I can donate at a higher level?
I agree that since he will be running a completely new offensive system then he knows who he wants coaching each spot. I also would like to see Burden and Searles stay because they both seem to have made significant improvements at their respective positions. However I refer back to my first point.
Should have had "enter sandman" playing as he got off the plane.
The fans will come around when/if he wins. Nothing else really matters.
I'm going to pretend like I'm a Tennessee fan for a minute and say that I totally foresee a National Championship soon after watching that press conference. "We're back!"
I have a bunch of cousins who are alumni of there and they are pissed!

I think the Georgia fans screwed themselves over on this one trying to get rid of a coach that was 9-3, if they get a new coach it will take 4 seasons of somewhat poor playing before any coach can get a team to work the way it is supposed to
