As another marketing person, I think youre 110% wrong on this. The target audience of those accounts arent 40-50+ year old alumni.
and potential recruits of the greatness that comes from Blacksburg
Exactly!!!! All this is a PR move for recruits. All recruits think they are/will be NFL caliber players (most are not). By displaying the HOKIES in the NFL on Sundays via twiter and other media outlets is just to show these high school kids what has come from VT in the past. It is almost exactly the same tactic Calipari uses at Kentucky and guess what he seems to be running a pretty successful basketball program.
It'd be great to hear from French but to the best of my knowledge it's a very basic pass blocking drill that emphasizes stance and first step. April and August stuff, not halftime of game 12 stuff.
see my post below about excuses
THIS.
Banner is simply terrible at everything. Not only is it terrible at everything, it is everywhere. It permeates nearly every aspect of the administrative apparatus at VT. Its like a fungus that is made of incompetence.
I'm going to assume "stealing" means winning a head-to-head battle over a recruit, and we don't owe them anything.
current is $3.21 million the new one is $3.4 million
We beat one flex option offense already this year. We can do it again
Thanks, but that's not going to stop me from putting my preference in the comment box. If nothing else they'll know that the main reason I'm donating is to help with the additional financial burdens of hiring top-tier coaches.
This is where it gets complex. A college football Twitter account has to cater to both young athletes, who are very in-tune with social media and trends, and fans, who care mostly about information. If you look at a recruit's follow list, it's often got a ton of schools and coaches. So those accounts have to be "part of the crowd," yet stand out and connect with the recruit in a way that makes sense to him. But on the flip side, those of us who are in it for information have to not feel alienated by some unintelligible stuff that only a high schooler understands. Personally, I have no problem with VT on social media; they seem to be striking an OK balance for me.

# | Report: Memphis Assistants Holman Wiggins and James Shibest to Join Justin Fuente at Virginia Tech http://sports.usatoday.com/ncaa/salaries/football/assistant says 150k either way we are paying lefty about 400k, sounds like a big raise is in the works for him
How does the new assistant salary pool compare to our current one?
You really think coaching at loluva would help his drinking problem?
You can find out the local club info on line.
I'm pretty sure Navy is already locked into that bowl.
From the Military Bowl site:
Navy, if it is bowl eligible and not selected to participate in one of the New Year's Six bowl games, will represent the American Athletic Conference against an Atlantic Coast Conference team.

Good point. Hokie Club is equivalent to cooking at home once a month instead of going out to eat...
Tyrod is the only NFL starting QB who is a VT alum. Taylor is also playing very well. QB is a very high profile position even compared to all-pro Safety (bam-bam) It's very wise for VT Football to remind fans, potential fans, and potential recruits of the greatness that comes from Blacksburg. Hyping a 2nd string OL (e.g. Will Montgomery) doesn't have the same impact.
Countless?
I'm going to assume that "stealing" means getting a recruit from the state of VA. Jimbo has had a total of 5 recruits from VA, since he became head coach in 2010:
Levenberry '13, Nandi '14, Eberle '14, Taylor '15, Sweat '15.
On the flip side, we average 2 - 3 Florida recruits a year.
With great players like Dadi, Maddy, Ford, Hosley, Flowers, Clowney (I'm sure I'm forgetting some) and Lydon/Lawson TBD, I think FSU has more to gripe about than we do.
Really don't have much to add outside of saying I think you're spending too much time worrying about a complete non-issue.
Still, not attributing photos is pretty common on twitter. Gotta understand your operating environment.
No. This is not an excuse. I'm a photographer, and 17 year old girls that I covered prom pictures for gave me more picture credit than Pete gives.
It's really sad those are two cities the ACC plays bowl games in.
He has 3 daughters? Poor Lucky guy.
FIFY
I think Navy has the rights to the Military Bowl this year

I need to find any reason possible to use this phrase.
I really have to wonder why, with our CS and Engineering prowess, VT cannot come up with a first-class software platform that can integrate apps, financial stuff, scheduling, etc. Maybe we're moving this way, but it seems we're still very behind the times.
