Just skip the first half. Just put "that was one of the worst performances the VT offense has had".

I'm not an Xs and Os guy, but I would be curious about the OL adjustments because it was better in the 2nd half and Brewer actually had a pocket to throw the ball down field.

One caveat, whoever becomes the primary, the backup needs to be prepared as well. No more bringing in the backup to run a quarter of the playbook because he isn't ready.

One thing I am hoping for is that we don't suddenly get too greedy/impatient with our football HC. If for some reason Fuente doesn't come out on fire, I don't want to be a program that has a quick trigger. I also don't want to get to a point where 10 wins aren't good enough. If we're winning 9-10 games a year like clockwork, we're occasionally in the playoff picture, and consistently competing for an ACC Championship, that's pretty great. But I have a feeling that we can do a LOT worse than Fuente, and showing him some patience might pay off in the long run. Of course, he has to do a lot to earn the right to be here for the long term, but constant overturn in the coaching staff is usually not a good thing. For all we know, Fuente could be the next Urban Meyer, and I hope he's here for a very long time.

I've proposed this before...haven't pressed the issue..but I think it would be cool if comments went plaid when they eclipse 100 legs

Lawson, doesn't get along with him well and probably would have transferred if he had stayed.

this is news to me. what is your #source?

He did not. Currently at 937, so with a below-average bowl game he would hit 1k.

wasn't like that in our day was it horse? we earned legs 5 to 10 at a time on a good post, snowing, up hill both directions.

seriously though, maybe time to change the rules on going green, and making it after you reach 25 or something. wow. well done

what great qb talent has he gotten? Apparently the most hyped up recruit he landed, Lawson, doesn't get along with him well and probably would have transferred if he had stayed. Plus for as great as many of us think he could be it's all just speculation because we have seen none of it.

Ford was ahead of durkin and transferred out and durkin is already behind Lawson. The one thing I will give him credit for is he at least brought in QBs or went after them every year. That's more than we did consistently before him.

LOL!...in typical Spaulding fashion:
"I'll have Les Miles, Dan Mullen, Chip Kelly..."
You'll get nothing and like it!

Fuente certainly has earned the trust that he'll make the right choice. But it it were me...

I'd be looking at Lawson as my QB1 going into camp, competing primarily with Jackson for the starting role. The winner of this competition is where I'd primarily invest my energy.

Motley has been a serviceable backup for us, but investing in him has little chance to establish a long term solution at QB, for the simple reason that he is a senior next year.

I would prefer to see Lawson start and have Motley back him up, with the possibility of redshirting Jackson (which I don't like doing, but would make the most sense logistically to get another year of separation between Lawson's and Jackson's eligibility while we still have Motley to provide backup).

Except when I shan't,
As sometimes I can't

I'm sorry to say,
But I live in Ohio
And maybe this year I may
Make my first bowl

We have reserved a hotel for
ND next year
We'll probably make Pitt
We'll make Bristol, that's clear

But we'll have offseason soon,
Which isn't much fun
Just waiting and waiting
For next season to have begun

When offseason hits
It's really the pits

We come to a place
called Speculate City
Where football gets swapped,
With guessing, not pretty

We get so confused
What teams will we face
Which QB to bet
On the next starting race

...and people just waiting
Waiting for some kids to commit
Or a transfer to appear
A flaw to admit
In a team you endear
For leaves to change color
But first there's a spring
And forever a summer
Until Bristol to ring...

nah, you'll just have to swap out animals. Maybe a elephant or a tortoise or something with a much longer lifespan.

Sheesh 107 legs...nicely done, Fishing
