This guy is the next Drew Harris.
When you hire a new HC, you have to let him choose his own staff. Period. It would make zero sense for a new HC with an offensive background to come in and keep Loeffler. Far better to lose a player or two than not give Fuente the control and autonomy to select his staff.
That said, Loeffler seems like a nice guy and I'll be interested to see where he ends up. For his sake, I hope he lands as a QBs coach somewhere. He could also potentially be successful as a Co-OC where the other OC is the one calling plays. Having a feel for game flow and knowing the right play to call in a given situation is just not one of his strengths.

# | Report: Memphis Assistants Holman Wiggins and James Shibest to Join Justin Fuente at Virginia Tech I have no idea of the quality of UGA's RB coach but I think there's evidence that UGA's running back success can largely be attributed to the fact that they consistently have signed top RB recruits in the country. Michel was a 5 star (#3 RB), Chubb a 5 star (#5 RB), Gurley a 4 star (#7 RB), Marshall a 5 star (#1 APB), and Moreno a 4 star (#13 RB). Essentially they have been stocked with Ryan Williams and David Wilson quality backs for the last decade.

Great attitude! Start where you can and then work your way up over time, as your individual situation allows. I was c/o 2002 and while we obviously didn't have the recent grad program back then, I could only afford to start at the base level. That year my season tickets were Row PPPPP. I didn't even know the East Stands went that high until I got my tickets! But hey, I was supporting the program and in the stadium! After 1 year, I bumped to O&M level, where I stayed a few years, then to Bronze for a few years, then to Silver for a few years, then to Golden for a few years, and as of today I went Platinum. If we all do our part at whatever level we can, we'll make a big impact together.

I'm not saying staff continuity is entirely irrelevant to recruiting, but personally, I don't think it's anywhere near as important as most fans think.
I recall a ton of folks screaming at me when I said it was silly to not redshirt him. Hindsight is 20/20, but...
