I can tell you right now, there will be some serious pollen in the air on saturday
Lump. In. Throat.
It's going to be a emotional day in the stands in Blacksburg on Saturday. Scooped up a last minute ticket and sitting by myself in Section 6 to get one last look at Beamer in Lane.
I realized the other day... over 25 years of watching wins, losses, highlights, tailgates, lunch pail D's, and all the players that have come and gone, Beamer has always been there through it all. A huge chapter ends on Saturday.
I wonder what former players will be there this weekend?

I think the announcement (if we really do already have the agreement in place) will be made the Monday after the UVa game. Allow Sunday for the stories of Frank's last game to play out, and then go immediately into the next era on Monday. Don't let VT stay in the news for too long in regards to reminiscing about the past, and change the focus towards the future as quick as you can.

No, I didn't misunderstand. Morris and Herman have ONE YEAR of HC experience at a non-P5 school. I don't see how that single year makes them such a major upgrade to Foster.
Filling the vacancy and announcing the hire are 2 different things. It may be finalized soon or already but we may not get an announcement at that same time.

I am not a track guy at all but it seems to me all that upper body strength would add weight and make it harder to jump farther?

I think there may be an immediate improvement with restabilizing the program. I feel that everything we have done in the last few years to strengthen recruiting has been offset by the uncertainty with Frank's situation. So the new coach will immediately reap those benefits and may improve a few things by breathing new life into the program. However, perennial top ten recruiting classes will take some some magic, and I don't believe in fairytales when it comes to football. I would be glad to eat my words if I'm wrong.
I'd rather run into a wall full speed....
