Foster doesnt recruit though
In a lot of ways I don't want Saturday to get here yet.
hope so--with so many other P5 job openings, i hope AD Babcock starts the process with a bang with a statement hire
Stack 3 top 10 recruiting classes with a 15th ranked class in 2013 and a 17th ranked class in 2014 and you have the #1 ranked team that could win the big title. You also have depth so when kids leave and get injured you won't be stuck with a walk on in your 2 deep.
Depth Matters and pulling in top 20 recruiting classes can help mask a ton of problems whether its injuries, kids leaving early or kids not performing.
i remembered seeing DW and his ride throughout the 'burg during my time in school. good to see he's upgraded to a Porsche now and living life to its fullest. wish him the best!
Very true, who knows. I hope this means that Whit knows who he's going to hire and an announcement is forthcoming.
Also, Leday made his only three of the night. If he can even go 1-3 from distance it will help draw people out of the middle
I'm not saying that wouldn't be the case, but consider that Herman was announced as Houston's next head coach well before he coached OSU in the national title game.
Maryland/Delaware folks- a 40+ pound rockfish was caught by a boat trolling plugs off Bethany Beach yesterday. Hopefully this cold front pushes them down and keeps them on the beach.

^ This. Someone else did a really thorough analysis of how the top 15 spots or so are generally occupied by the same schools. Then there are a few that rotate in and out. Note how the same names keep showing up, just in slightly different order. Most of the schools shown above underwent 1 or more coaching changes during this time. The coach himself means little in this equation. Having the right energy and vision is the key to entering the conversation, but a tradition of winning, good facilities, and favorable geography really are the keys here. So anyone expecting an immediate turnaround in VT recruiting is going to be disappointed, I think. I want someone who is a high energy recruiter to give us a chance to enter this top tier, because I think we have a lot of the other points covered, but it's going to take some time to really make a big change in our recruiting.
FWIW
Lot of big FBS coaching jobs open, but heard today (as others have) that Virginia Tech likely will be the first to fill its vacancy.— Adam Rittenberg (@ESPNRittenberg) November 19, 2015
I'm hoping this means we will name the new coach right after the UVA game, or very shortly thereafter. If that is the timeline, that could possibly eliminate Herman (Houston playing in their conference championship game if they beat Navy next weekend).
Bibbs is a quiet scorer. He puts up points and you look up and think, when did he get 10 points? The problem is that we need him to score more without forcing things. He needs to get the ball on kick outs more, but he's also not creating a lot of opportunities for himself because he's not moving without the ball. If they set screens for him, do some pick n pop action he starts averaging 15 ppg and that would change a lot for us. He had 8? points in the first half and helped us take that halftime lead, but disappeared with only 3 points in the 2nd. Having another half like his 1st would've made the game a little more comfortable. Also doesn't help that he missed his free throws.
My heart says the Hokies cover and outright win on a game fueled by the emotions of the day. But my head says those same emotions will be too much for this relatively young team to handle

Pretty amazing guy.
Can someone explain the table to me? I only see Clemson on 2011, 2012, and 2015 won't no real pattern.
This is in response to this post and your one on the other thread. It was comparably a good crowd for us. It was a significantly better showing, at least from students, then it would've been for the same game last year. Our team has low expectations, the school has little basketball culture, we're playing a fake school (Jacksonville isn't a state and they're likely not accredited), and it's a Wednesday night during crunch time in the semester. But a fair amount of students showed up and were pretty loud. I've been there when its been way way worse and I can see the improvement not just in attendance, but what's probably more important in the energy of the crowd. People weren't just there to watch, they were pissed when we didn't make free throws, when Allen didn't play well. Standby line would've made the crowd better and I would encourage everyone to contact the athletic department to bring that back.
Thanks for posting this. Loved it. DW4 is my favorite hokie.

For the record I hate almost all of these picks
Well, the anOSU game was kind of unique. The standard pricing for normal home games didn't apply, so it could have been looked at as such. I'm sure if he wanted to go to the NC State game, he'd been taken care of.
The guys that moved my stuff from Blacksburg to Knoxville also moved Mullen from Florida to Miss State. Said he was quite the jerk, for whatever that's worth.

reading into this... its already been decided and signed just waiting for the right time.
Wouldn't be surprised if there is a couple hints from media at who it could be leading up to UVA game.
