Sadly, I have to agree. UNC's offense is older and more experienced, while our defense is younger and prone to breakdowns this year. I'm hoping they can play at the top of their game, because this one is going to be a slugfest.

I have stayed out of this whole who the next coach is going to be because, well, I really don't have any inside sources nor am I smart enough to figure out who the best fit would be for VT. But, my thoughts on Foster, or anyone else on the current staff, being promoted is why would they wait to announce that. I mean if you want to retain the current recruiting class you may as well let everyone know there will not be much change to the program. So, although Foster may be in the running, I think Whit is going after others before him.

Not sure where to put this and I haven't seen it anywhere here but Joel Caleb and Desmond Frye are apparently being honored as seniors this week. (Can't find the tweet) That means they will not return for their 5th year.

Caleb would not be a shock, Frye is a bit of a surprise since he is seeing the field

that doesn't really have anything to do with this game in particular. I think Loeffler's odds at staying in Blacksburg are about the same as Bud's...

Sans Fuller, Bonner, and Jarrett. Those absentees are going to make a huge difference. I think UNC will get their points. We're not going to win this game unless our offense shows up in a big way. If our offense doesn't score at least 30 points I don't see VT coming out victorious.

Virginia kids need a sexy offense providing a pipeline to the NFL. Virginia kids need a nasty D providing a pipeline to the NFL.

We put those two things in place and nothing else matters. Someone else puts it in place in the local area (NC, Tennessee, WV, MD, PA) and we will suffer. Whit is gonna make this happen.

Memphis -1.5 at Temple
Michigan State at Ohio State -13.5 (cover; but a win would be great)
Northwestern at Wisconsin -10.5
USC at Oregon -4.5
Baylor at Oklahoma State PK
TCU at Oklahoma -7.5 (three weeks ago, who would have predicted a line like this?)

some good, some bad so far.

This was a great game for Robinson, a guy I think will be a key player for us this year. He's getting to the rim with ease and I think he's going to be a good shooter....from the line and the arc...as the season wears on.

Also a good game for Clarke who I wasn't as high on as some. Still hasn't shown the jumper he is going to need that will bring the defense out on him, allowing him to get to the rim. But he's electric in transition, has a nose for the ball and looks good at the line.

I love Blackshear. I don't love Hamilton, but he at least looks capable of giving us what Pierce gave us last year. Hopefully Pierce can pull it together, but a DNP is tough to deal with in the 2nd game. Hudson's time on the court is also a painful marker of where he is on the team right now.

Allen will come around. He may not be the savior we had hoped for, but he will be an important cog to this team. Bibbs looked better in the 2nd game. I'm skeptical of LeDay, he looks like a tweener to me that will suffer in ACC play.

I feel good about this game because the last few years Bud has had Fedora's number, and they have essentially all the same personnel.

We should have some of the various jerseys showcased. I thought some schools gave a jersey to recruits? Give them a choice. My guess is black and orange with some strategic white very subtle maroon would be #1 and #2 would be far behind. Hope Whit or the new coach takes control of the uniform issue. Talk to other schools and some of the schools just do what the stupid alums like .... unfortunately I think that is VT. Others are way more aggressive about getting unis that the kids think look cool. Not knowing or not giving a f*** is beyond abysmal IMHO. Given our in state recruiting of late not giving a f*** is no longer a tenable position.

does it make me a bad person that I read in yourher profile "I went to W&M and UVA/Darden..." under cake or pie that the answer was "ice cream" and immediately thought, "I bet this is one of the few women on TKP?"

McMillian may only get 6 carries in the first half...I can tell you right now that we'll throw the ball 70% of the time on first down. At least 60% of those passes will be incomplete or go for 0-2 yards leaving us with 2nd and long situations. From there it'll be a 50-50 split of run vs pass and we'll get into 3rd and medium situations 90% of the time which will force us to throw again. We'll probably convert about 30% on 3rd downs. This is all based on Lefty-trends. I hope I'm wrong and we run the hell outta the rock. We'll see, I guess.

Only a casual basketball fan the last few years, but I thought Allen was more SG than PG.

Can't ask a SG to do PG duties. Help out yes. If he has a good relative matchup to take the ball up the court yes.

To me, PG is the #1 spot I need on a basketball team. Until we work PG out its gonna be rough.
