We heard mention of a search committee that featured Shane and Bud, right? If that's the case, names could be leaked out of there. But it might be "names the committee is considering" and not names that Whit has already decided on.

The "leaks" could also be coming from some agent of the coach in question to try to get the current university to increase overall pay or to give a post season bonus.

I have no idea who the next big whistle is gonna be. As long as it isn't RichRod, I'm ok. If Bud is HC or is retained, even better. I think we find out sometime between Dec. 5th & Dec 12th. And Whit isn't gonna drop hints. We might have a few hours of "pretty sure" speculation a few hours before the press conference. Until then, don't believe a thing you read or hear.

I would say that their source is someone still on the football staff, whether it be a coach, GA, strength coach, trainer, team doctors, team nutritionists, tutors, Video coordinators...
Very possible, and I don't disagree, but again, how in the know are these folks? I would say they are in the dark just like everyone else.
My hunch is by the time legit information trickles down to lower level athletic department employees, a decision has already been made.

If Foster is still here in some capacity, I think we need a coach that can recruit to Foster's style considering that Foster does no recruiting whatsoever.

No power 5 team would go up against Houston right now and feel super confident, never mind a group of 5 team. Herman put up an incredible offensive performance late in the game to steal that one back. I wouldn't go so far as to say Memphis is falling off.
Agree. If we hire Fedora, I doubt Chizik is coming with.
Totally agree. I hope that everyone that says he's been mediocre until this year realizes that the reason for success is Chizik at DC. Thus, Fedora + good DC = good team. Essentially the near same equation everyone is using for Herman, Fuente, and Morris; X + Foster = VT good again. (Although, Herman may not need an elite DC to be good in P5).
So, besides the typical the grass-is-greener-on there-other-side mentality, I fail to see how people strongly prefer Fuente or Morris over Fedora. All three are great offensive minds that would require an excellent DC to become elite.
