Wouldn't read too much into it. The Ford pic is from last year and the standard helmet was just inserted into the header at the top.
Its not like the break between quarters is going to get shorter if we don't do it...the amount of time is already determined.
I enjoy it, my classmates enjoy it. We in fact look forward to it. If the Hokey-Pokey were taken away there would be riots.

Or 3 TDs with one-point EPs and 2 two-point plays?
Either way - scoring 25 is difficult because it does require some 2-point plays somewhere (could be 3 TDs, 2 one-point EPs, one 2-point EP)
I like it for snoozer games like Furman, but absolutely hate it for real games like OSU. I think it kills the energy.

You're twisting my words. I did not say "This offense has a problem and the problem is this"
I'm arguing that if there is a problem with our running game, which is debatable, it isn't DLs which is the proposition made by the original comment.
I do not explicitly say our running game has a problem. You inferred that. I'm just postulating, based on the original comment, that if there is a problem with our running game, it is NOT the DL

But your original statement explicitly stated that there was a problem with the VT running game and what that problem is. I didn't see how -- from just two games against two teams at polar opposite ends of the bell curve in which the VT running game ranged from respectable to excellent -- one could conclude that 1) there is a problem and 2) that the problem is with opposing LBs.

I think contrast and visibility probably play into the decision somewhat. For instance, you don't want to wear a white helmet if the other team is wearing a white helmet, you want your QB to be able to pick up the color instantly. Contrast is a good thing. Purdue is likely wearing gold this week, since they wore a white one last week. I think they may have a black one this year too, so that might be in play, and would be a good reason to wear our white one.

But in both cases, we're talking about kids with NFL talent, how many underclassmen does VT have with NFL talent we redshirted that are going to leave early? Bucky comes to mind, but one could easily argue it was the year he spent redshirting that allowed his switch to TE that put him in a position to leave early.

I'd wager it varies by position.
QB has the largest learning curve, 5th year might help.
OL's need to build up size, 5 years might help
RB have short careers, and the learning curve is not as large, they should try to get to the NFL as quick as possible.
EDIT: obviously I tremendously over simplified it, but I think that's the concept.
