You stopped one step short. We have to take the derivative with respect to TE (so that we get the rate of change):
d(3 + TEn) / dTE = TE
Meanwhile, we see when taking the derivative with respect to QB:
d(3 + TEn) / dQB = 0
So we clearly see a constant slope towards TE.
