I was in French class at Benedictine in Richmond. On Tuesdays we had block day so much longer classes, our teacher allowed us to watch TV for the last 5 minutes or so of class. We were flipping through the channels trying to get to ESPN and going past a news station we caught coverage of the first tower. As we watched live the second plane hit. My dad and Mom at the time were in the Navy reserves and my dad was a Chesterfield County Sheriffs lieutenant so a lot of things ran through my mind. We for some reason still finished school and had football practice that afternoon but our game on Staten Island was cancelled that Friday. 9/11 really influenced my goals as as an adult, I always wanted to be a police officer and I did that for a year and a half but I wanted to do more with Homeland Security and Emergency management so I went to the fire side. I have talked to many firefighters on duty that day and ones who came from home. I've met guys from all over the country who went to the "pile" and worked for days or weeks. It was like nothing seen by people in the U.S. and we have to work everyday to make sure it doesn't happen again.
A few times I realized Bucky wasn't getting looks, when I would watched him in passing downs he was blanketed. They were jamming him hard
Furman also played the #1 team last week. Coastal Carolina, who beat Furman by only 3, is #1 in FCS.
Furman's QB, Reese Hannon, has not started only 3 games as noted here, but this will be his 22nd start. He was the starter last year and broke his ankle in the first game. The injury required Furman to go through two more QB's, probably leading to their fall from the #12 ranked team in Week 2 to a 3-9 record. Hannon has effectively been the starter since his freshman year, he missed his Junior year with the ankle injury. He's a three year captain, very experienced player. Furman is also very experienced at WR.

# | Analyzing Virginia Tech Offensive Coordinator Scot Loeffler's Game Plan Against Ohio State Despite losing our starting QB for at least the first half of the season, I'm optimistic about our offense because of what I saw and how you articulated it in this writeup. This offense looks completely different than the ones we fielded under Stinespring. We're watching an offensive identity emerge. If Lefty can find a QB who can manage this offense in Brewer's absence, I think we're going to be fine. The scheme is well-enough thought out, and we have enough talent at the skill positions and an improving O line, that I just can't help but think we'll be okay. So long as we find a QB who can make his reads.
Antonio Brown's garbage time TD helped a lot to make things closer in TKP league, where I faced Gronk. Thank god for PPR.

As you mentioned, I don't know if OSU wins the championship without that VT loss just as much as I don't know if OSU walks away with the W on Labor Day if Brewer didn't get knocked out. We will never know if that's true or not. At the end of the day though, I agree, it's all about respect. I've enjoyed the series and wish it could keep going.
Bruce Fowler, oddly enough, lives close to Lane Stadium and puts cones out in front of his house on game days to protect his hydrangeas.
I sat next to and behind 2 groups of OSU fans and I had a great experience with them we talked football gave friendly ribbing the group in front of me proudly showed off her sons band pics from OSU and the one beside me knew the game and had a fair view of what was going on. that I can appreciate. as much as I love VT I love football and to be able to converse with out it being an argument with someone whom has a different perspective that me always makes for a great experience in my opinion. there is always bad apples no matter what but I did not have ANY with any of the OSU folks I encountered.

He showed some good burst a couple of times, didn't hit a wall and cower as he did often before the Duke game last year (and the year before that and the year before that). I'm optimistic that Motley + JCC will put a lot of pressure on the edges.
I think most people are thinking that Shai is healthier than he is. There have been hints that he's banged up now with a hamstring. Coming off a 2nd ACL surgery and interpolating from VT's medical departments 3-year run of underestimating health, I'm in the camp that we won't see healthy Shai until October.
Durkin to TE is a real possibility, I think we see DLAW a lot on Saturday.

You start thinking you win simply because you have been winning - and the fall is not far behind. Ask the SEC. Now that they have been humbled, look out.
As for Cardale's tweet, again - I don't like it - but if you are reading malice into him, you probably aren't getting him. Think of one of your friends who likes to poke a little fun at you with a big grin on his face. That's Cardale.

# | Bitter blog - Kendall Fuller on Cardale Jones' DBU tweets: 'They took the W; they can talk' Ohio State fans, and maybe some in the program itself, took VT serious last year - in terms of a team that they needed to take seriously, but not as a team that would actually come into Ohio Stadium at night and win the game. We made assumptions that were very, very wrong - that one in particular. And as the game unfolded, especially by the time it was over, there were certain realities about problems with the preparation for that game, and deficient areas that were exposed. That process actually worked to OSU's advantage because the problems were not talent issues, but things that could be fixed with coaching. So, there was a feeling that VT did them a painful favor. But that the pain part needed to be addressed this year - and that motivated them.
But programs, their fans in particular, seem to want - above anything else - respect. Credit for winning and respect for losing with great effort - essentially being worthy. I think VT has all of that from the vast majority of Buckeye Nation.
And, for sure, we recognize that Brewer was making the difference in that game. The proof of that was when he went down, every OSU and VT I was talking to said, "Well, that's the game" - and it was only a 21-17 game! I believe (don't know) that OSU would have still won that game based on what was happening with explosive plays the OSU offense was producing, but it would have been closer - maybe more like 42-31 or something in that area. FWIW
