Agreed but I'm certainly pulling for Tyrod. I just don't know why all these NFL teams draft nole QBs in the first round; they never seem to pay off.
No disagreement here. 2016 would not look nearly as promising without his contribution on the QB side. Think back to what we had in the hopper in 2012. NOTHING
If she reciprocated, I'd go down gently
Has he ever picked OSU to win on game day? I'm sure him and Herbie love keeping the rivalry going.
I know it's been said before, but even if we aren't the top defense in the country this year, if we have an offense that can at least be average we could be nasty good.
This has been said for almost 2 decades.
Do you think that this year HAS to be the year? What about Lawson next year with 2 junior receivers and potentially 2 RB's who redshirted (most likely at least 1 redshirt between Shai and Juice), more line continuity and Fuller saying "I love VT, I will play another year" (not happening, but one can dream). I think next year will be the when things go from simmer to full boil.
honey-Fing-do list. Last thing tomorrow, resealing the driveway. THEN I get to start prepping for football.
True story here. My wife is a huge OSU fan as I have mentioned. Going to the game together. Last night for no good reason I stayed up until ~4am. Game week officially started when we woke up this morning. She rolled over and asked "what the hell you doing on the couch all night?" My response, "digging through your depth chart for an active WR."
Might be on the couch again tonight.
I think you are right. Looks like a negative space VT.
I've got some brisket & pork shoulder brining for pastrami & porkstrami, sauerkraut fermenting, I'll make some spicy beer mustard next weekend and get some sides and dips together Sunday night.
I know it was premature, but there was a sale at Harris Teeter on beer today. I grabbed 7 cases of Yuengling. Hopefully I have some left for Gameday.
Awesome man!!! This is my favorite time of the year as well! Glad to hear you are prepping!
OMG they ripped our guy's face off!
Looks like the inside of the VT is just going to be the orange chrome of the helmet. If you look at the top right picture, the VT is outlined in maroon and white but you can see a sliver of orange.
I think that Meyer will go with Barrett as he is the safe pick. Jones has more upside but is less of a know quantity as well.
I'm surprised they didn't do this Advent Calendar style with one picture a day starting from 9 days out.
What we need is an efficient offense. Convert third downs to keep drives going, and score touchdowns instead of field goals in the red zone. That would be the perfect fit for what Virginia Tech does as a program. Rickey Bustle gave us that, Stiney was never able to. That's all Lefty needs to do, not make us an offensive juggernaut. I'm just hoping he realizes that.
As a Hokie and a Buckeye I believe there is a little crazy talk on both sides. A few weeks back there were Hokies talking about the "trash talking" by Buckeye players in an article in a Virginia newspaper. I avoiding reading the article for days because I didn't want to get drawn into the discussion. I finally read the article and there was nothing that I would consider trash talking....pretty vanilla really.
There have been a few bold or crazy predictions but probably not from fans that actually attended OSU.
I think and hope it will be a good game that will capture the national TV audience attention and causes people to say, "who cares about the SEC". Being a graduate of both VT and OSU and living in Alabama makes this a very important game for me!
Me and my wife put a new VT sticker on her car side window, and a new Virginia Tech Alumni interior sticker on the back of her car, we have 3 car magnets as well to put on our car for the drive to Virginia Tech from Ocean Lakes Va Beach. We have bought about 8 new shirts a piece for the season and new hoodies, a new fold out chair, I have worked on my grilling (with charcoal) all summer to get better for tailgate season. I have taught her the names of all the new Hokie football players and their positions, I met Beamer this offseason about a month ago at a Hokie Club event in Va Beach. Got my VT man cave in order. Just waiting to get through this one last grueling work week and weekend that I will wish away for Monday night. I do look forward to seeing how other teams will look this weekend though. I cannot stress how much I love this time of year!!!
Back atcha.
HOKIES!
If you have friends that are not students with student tickets I would advise them to not even try to enter. Public safety (law enforcement and security) have been upped for the game. They are not going to take arguing over entrance to the game lightly.
Just bring your student ID and you'll be fine.
Sure he went to Michigan!
Thanks for the advice. I'll spread the word to my friends, but it it happens to me I'll be pretty ticked off. I'm a student, I got my ticket legitimately, and I can root for whoever I want. Maybe I'll bring some HokieSpa printout or something to help my case.

There was a dropped TD that let to a missed FG (huge swing), a high snap inside VT territory that led to a missed FD instead of a chip shot IIRC. Barrett looked lost that 2nd half, but early in the game he torched VT on the ground (yikes).
There were also a lot of 50/50 balls where it looked like the DB got his hand on the ball way later than I'd have liked and.
Overall, looking forward to whomever anOSU trots out.
