# | Bitter blog - Babcock offers clarification on player fines, shuts down entire practice I'm not worried, if Ryan has half a brain he would see the upside of the type of unmatched offensive weapons that could bring Week one. Taylor, Shady McCoy, Sammy Watkins, Percy Harvin.
Good God it could be a football version of the Harlem Globetrotters.

# | Bitter blog - Babcock offers clarification on player fines, shuts down entire practice The proportions on that VT are all wrong! Way too skinny.
They used Bill Roth's play by play!
Edit: a good portion of the video is devoted to players who are not going to play in the game...
Seems reasonable. A way for the school to bring in some revenue and a spot for visiting fans to tailgate in peace, not that I would expect them to have any trouble in general.
I am sure there will be a good representation for OSU in the stadium. All the more reason for the fans to get loud and stay loud. I shed a tear last year when I could hear "Lets Go Hokies!" coming through my surround sound at THE SHOE on primetime!!
Was trying to be positive...
I just asked about Edmunds. Foster added he definitely doesn't want to RS him because he wants Edmunds in the meeting rooms to gear him up for a role next year. I also popped the question about him outgrowing the LB spot and that's a possibility, with a move to DE. I know there's been some chatter about converting Edmunds to TE and Foster scoffed at that notion. Just get the vibe that Foster REALLY LIKES Edmunds' ceiling.
Air Coryell!!! coach from 61-72
And a few other alumni, that most likely have a soft spot for their own alma mater.
Joe Gibbs, John Madden, Ted Tollner, Herman Edwards, John Fox, Sean Payton, Tom Cable, Brian Billick
Drew Brees was enough to get Purdue included.
What you said. You don't take away money being given for the purpose of balancing things out a bit for the players. I absolutely agree that what these student athletes do with their stipends is their business, and their business alone. It is presumptuous to make assumptions, but worse to presume it is any of our affair.
Also wholeheartedly agree with your opinion regarding bowl money/gifts, including the bus ride home. That's a horse of a different color.
The starters rest in game 4, game 3 is where the starters play the most, typically.
As a matter of fact, elevenwarriors posted a hype video for the rematch game against us. It starts with plenty of Hokie highlights for emotional effect. Also, not surprisingly, the majority of the highlights for OSU are of players that will not be back for the "rematch".
That is because the starter is normally rested in game three. This is just giving Manuel a chance to make the roster cuts.
To take a positive spin on this, this whole episode could be viewed as a teaching moment and as good training on how to properly handle the media and avoid potential landmines if one wants to be a head coach in the near future. Better now than after... I mean, "if" he takes over for Frank.
It's only fair. It's still a 3 way QB competition. Castle started game 1. Tyrod started game 2. EJ should start game 3. It isn't like Tyrod's not going to play in the game.
I only care about who starts week 1.
Ummm.. If I had to guess, I'd say the NFL?
Something tells me that Foster has some freak defensive scheme in mind for Tremaine. It is very unlike Bud to trust a true freshman in his linens line corps. Particularly when we have not heard much about him throughout camp and it is a guy that most people believe will outgrow the position. Tremaine's unique measurable a and skill set might have Bud thinking creative. One thing for sure, being an Edmunds he is certain to be coachable and a team player.
there are not enough up-votes on the internet for this
Immediately, no....
But I think this whole situation shows he has A LOT to learn about how to handle the media so that these kinds of things don't happen again. Trust me, the last thing Whit wants to be doing right now is fielding questions and calls about something an assistant coach of his said in an interview. And if Bud were made head coach, the possibilities of this kind of thing happening again only go up.
With D's from
BaltimoreBuffalo and Pittsburgh!?
FTFY
I know how the HT's deal with tripping assholes. Countermarch after passing them so we run em down while they're bragging to their buddies!

# | Virginia Tech Defensive Media Session: A very newsworthy chat with Bud Foster Apparently I was incorrect. Read a David Teel article that linked back to a story from '06 about Beamer docking Aaron Rouse $100 of his bowl money for a personal foul. My understanding is that it's allowed though because it's not messing with a student's financial aid. Though reports say that many schools have language in the financial aid contract that allows for them to be able to punish them for certain acts, such as criminal acts or others.
I have no issues with fining. You don't put in the work, you don't reap the benefits. That being said, I understand these are kids, who are supposed to be learning and growing. It is an intern-ship then, very low pay, long hours, lots of learning. The question is, is it legal? That's the problem, its almost certain that removing the funds designated for "transportation and miscellaneous expenses," would not sit well with the FBS/NCAA since it's a not so subtle attempt to clearly divide the "have's from the have-not's," and thus is probably illegal.

I am here with you...
