When was that ever mentioned?
I haven't heard any of the comments, but I'm not sure what implications Ben could be uncomfortable with. Vick was simply signed on a one year contract to be the backup. Ben's job is as secure as they come. It's possible that there could be some friction, but they'll get past that. If not, Vick will be gone and they'll pick up someone else as a backup.
Even when he did well, he didn't show any pocket presence or ability to anticipate receivers coming open, it's just the run game and play action gave him enough time where it didn't matter.
Man, that just sounds terrible. I wonder how VT would fare in that situation.
I don't even want to think about the inconsistency issues we might face though. Could you imagine losing to a team like Wake?
Oh man, runoff... Have we considered the woods in all of this?

Travel? Not too much of that going on. They will be coming out of the woodworks as well. Not much travelling for a sour fan of any other nearby school not called VT.
All joking aside, I expect to see droves of them.
Good on Whit for getting on top of things, and good on AB for taking the time to do, y'know, actual journalism and not just run with 2 or 3 quotes - lookin' at you, Mike and Mike.
Also, can we all just put this behind us and agree that we've found the next great TKP meme picture?

# | Bitter blog - Babcock offers clarification on player fines, shuts down entire practice Does the bowl stipend fine refer to sending players home on Greyhound? They weren't at the bowl trip for the entire time so why should they get paided a stipend for the length of the entire trip?
I got you.

Won't be easy to play him in a jumbo set and redshirt him too.
I also think that quad/hamstring imbalance is playing role. Not nearly enough hamstring specific work to counter all the front squats, extensions and lunges.
According to the site referenced by the link above, we're 65th with 139 players in the NFL. More interesting is "active" players. When sorted by active players, we have 24, which is tied with Arkansas for 34th place.
Hokie_x3_HIi beat me to it. Leg for you!
AHEM!
Should be full go here starting on Monday.
Let's get him in some kind of shape where he looks like a quick, athletic guy all the time
Alas, we will have to wait a year to unleash Tim on the ACC. Dude could be a MAJOR disruption once he gets a little more quickness and stamina.
One question (French/someone?): What happened to mentions of him getting O-Line reps? Was this just to give him more experience on both ends of the ball or what?
Every time my fianc yells "O-H-!" in public I yell back
"K.I.E.S, Hokies!!!" before anybody can spell the rest. It'd be a little more obnoxious to a stranger, though.
Mike Greenberg is a self righteous, pompous windbag.
In other words... Gold Star ESPN talking head.
What do these lists count? 53 man rosters? Drafted players? Anyone who has signed an NFL contract?
Anybody aware of a timeline on Dadi's club? It's seeming pretty clear it is not a short-term thing, but I haven't heard any predictions of when he may have it off.
Well we're 65 (out of 797) with 139 players that have played in the NFL. Currently though, we're 34th for active players in the NFL.
Where to start?
- off-topic/unrelated to content above
-
let the students keep their paltry money
.... uhhh are you insulting the players? (justs seems very off-key to mention it that way)
- YOU DO NOT INSULT BUD FOSTER (insert menacing Bud pic here)
I wouldn't worry about that at all. He made one comment, if that's enough for Babcock to take him out of the coach race he probably wasn't highly considered to begin with.
Probably...but we have to remember that behind Nick Vannett, we're pretty dang inexperienced at TE as well. Marcus Baugh was coveted by the coaches out of HS, but he hasn't had much meaningful time on the field and has spent his fair share of time in the doghouse with ol' Urbs due to a couple off the field issues early on. Vannett and Heuerman pretty much dominated all first and second team reps for the last few years.
