"Why does the NFL have multiple year contracts?" Exactly now you're starting to hit the source of the problem. As far as the team goes, you aren't on a five year deal, you have 5 1-year deals running consecutively which they can end at any moment for injury, performance, salary cap issues, overpaid, any reason they come up with. As far as the players options go, he is under 1 5-year contract with no options to get out.

I posted this somewhere else, but if it gets to be too much, and the sight of html doesn't intimidate you...using Chrome you can right-click, "inspect element" near the video (either in the adjacent non-video ad or the discussion bar) click on the div containing the video, and hit the delete key. This eliminates the buggy video ad. Not ideal, but easy workaround that works for me.

Edit: I had tried to include the word div in corner brackets, but apparently it was treated as html, kind of ironic I guess

It was there for me. I had some great offers (monetarily speaking) thrown at me from home (757) but I ended up going to Tech in large part to get the heck away from there. For me, Blacksburg is far enough away. But if I were a D1 caliber player and a big time school from farther away offered me a full ride to play for them....well, maybe Blacksburg wouldn't have been far enough.

The average salary is 400k and the average career span is 3 years. The Peyton Mannings are one guy on the 53 man roster the vast majority make much less than "millions and millions"

Native Australian. Punts traditionally and rugby-style. Didn't have one blocked last year that I remember. Punts with great hang time, forcing fair catches and not allowing returns. Also excellent at getting the ball downed inside the 15. He's a real weapon. I thought he was the best punter in CFB until I saw JK Scott for Alabama in the Sugar Bowl. That guy is the best - for sure. But #2 ain't bad, and I think we have him.

I've had this issue off and on for a while now. Usually, just with the threads with a large number of posts. The only thing I've found that seems to work for me is to put my cursor arrow on the down arrow of the up/down bar and left click on it to move down. Usually works, not sure why.

Not really that exciting of a story. A drunk lady friend was drunk and told me about it. I didn't believe her (because she was drunk) and so drunk me got pulled by drunk lady friend in to see it. Surprisingly, I'm still allowed in Hokie House.

Probably because the cops in Washington and the University actually prosecute. In Florida schools and SEC schools, they probably give you a get-out-of-jail free card when they issue you your scholarship.

Well I apologize Joe for opening an old wound. And forgive me for having not seen the previous 40,000 posts on the topic. Point taken on the donations to limit sponsorship needs.

WRT the key strokes comment, as Hokie Firman commented, what I'm typing doesn't show up on the screen. Characters are skipped, etc. Just noticed that one in the last two days. Obviously I don't comment much on the site, but I read frequently (almost daily this time of year...). This is a minor issue for me. But the page jumping is frustrating as hell. None of the above happens when I'm on my iPad, just my laptop. Will give the Chrome suggestions a try!

This was some pulse-pounding stuff right there. Looking for some Buckeye nuts to crack.

I really don't rank my enjoyment of VT Football Hype Videos; I enjoy them all equally.

Keep up the good work boys.

I'm not saying recruiting doesn't matter. But those teams already dominate dominate their in state recruiting. So pulling players from out of state is a bonus. Their out of state talent mirrors their in state talent.

We don't dominate in state. "Changing philosophy" and increasing the amount of out of state recruiting won't inherently increase the type of talent we pull in.

Do not let the incompetence of a subset of our people represent the movement as a whole. After all, You wouldn't say that LOLUVA's inferiority is an accurate representation of all Virginians, now would you?

#TeamCake lost that battle, but the war is far from over. Down with Pie!
