As for Stanford I doubt a lot of private school kids dreaming of going to Stanford also made the Cut for the football program <-- entire generalization statement and maybe very wrong. But I think it is more how Stanford finds the best players in the country they can get

To me, after sure hands the most important thing a punt returner needs is no fear. You have to know that chances are you are going to get drilled and hammered the second you touch the ball. You have to have no fear that you might get injured, fumble the ball, etc. With Braxton's injury record that could be a big issue.

Craig County has played Iron Man football for years so they can field a team at the high school level. They don't need no pansy 7 on 7 league. They just play offense and defense.

I'm speaking merely as a fan here (since I really don't edit VT videos anymore) because it's something I have believed in since joining these boards and communities. I think it's worth noting and shouting out to the array of Tech fans who produce and create all these hype videos and trailers for the upcoming seasons, year after year. Since the beginning of YouTube, the quality for each of them has always been nothing short of astounding. You make the offseason bearable and unbearable at the same time in the best ways; and I think, from a recruiting standpoint, these videos DO make a difference. Who the hell wouldn't want to play for fans who are as passionate as we are? Billdozer, VTim, RealDiehl, Jordan Long, HokieJoker & Co., kpersn84, hokiehivpi, Andrew Robinson, and all the others I missed (apologies). You make VT football look good even when it's bad, really amazing when it's great, and always remind me why I love being a Hokie so damn much. Thank you to everyone.
Seems like it's more of a problem that the media didn't cover it, like they would have anywhere else.
You can hardly blame them for that.
They might even get some Virginia Tech fans who also want to see Notre Dame and Boise State play.
I'm only surprised at the name, when it looks like the "There's a high probability that we're going to get thrashed" ticket.
Why should the media have done so? Rapes occur on campus every day. Yet they rarely make the papers. Because it's a sensitive matter, and both parties have rights that must be protected. And we've seen that when the press does get involved in a case, they absolutely destroy the accused's reputation and preemptively find guilt, even in cases where it's determined in the proper venues that the person wasn't actually guilty (Duke lax, Famous Jameis). It's better for all involved to wait until after criminal proceedings take place before the media gets involved.
No doubt, it's a statistic, so anything can be relayed. And there are a lot of factors to consider; number of kids that are FBS worthy in the state, the size of the state with regards to kids playing, the veracity with which the state approaches high school football, number of options "nearby" that the kid could attend-which could be also in-state or out of state.

I think >50% on 3rd down is pretty remarkable for any team, especially against a top ranked team. 6 teams had over 50% conversion rate last year. You guys were one of them. It may not seem remarkable to you, but at the same time you guys were also only 25% during that game.
This is problematic for several reasons.
Even if the school didn't publicize it, shouldn't the media have done so? Did the school know about his past at Boise State? If a player has been arrested, they don't even get suspended from team activities?
Baylor has some 'splaining to do.
Its a difficult comparison. I mean a school like Wisconsin gets the majority of the best players in state, but since it is such a talentless state, they're forced to look elsewhere for decent players. A team like UGA recruits so well that not only do they get the a good percentage of the best players in state, but they have enough draw to pull elite players from other states if they want to.
Tech isn't really like that. We don't dominate the states best players, but since we do have a decently talented state, we can still fill out a roster in state. We still go out of state, but can't pull talent like Clemson or Auburn does
