It's a no win situation, one that I generally prefer to not engage in anymore. What set me off this time was a remark that Stiney could never have done what Loeffler is doing. That is so fundamentally wrong it needed to be corrected.
Whether the Loeffler supporters believe 3 years is the right time frame isn't something worth debating. Rocco and I believe 3 years is an eternity and have provided comps for how it is done faster (we haven't even brought up Auburn, the most relevant comp ever). We have to agree to disagree about the 3 year thing. We also disagree about how bad the situation Loeffler inherited truly was. You aren't going to convince me and I'm not going to convince you.
Other than that, we all want Loeffler to succeed this year because we have a once a generation defense and we don't want him screwing that opportunity up.
Braxton Miller doesn't strike me as a punt returner. Kick returner maybe, but not a punt returner. I'll be very surprised if he returns any punts.
...at least he has personal history calling the Stanford game, there might be some sincerity in his admiration.
Considering his success as a coach, I don't think he's blowing smoke. Personally, I love his act. He gets excited about good football, and then will actually spell out what's going on. Not a lot of commentators get in depth enough to actual teach what's going on and what to watch for, even if it's nothing overly complicated.
Probably because you can't give less than $100 online. And kids don't know how to write checks and send mail anymore.
At best, he'll have the ball in his hands about 5 or 6 times. When he doesn't, is he a liability or an asset? There's a lot more to playing his new position than catching the ball and running or being a decoy.
A guy who doesn't run a crisp route, make the correct read, miss an assignment, whiffs on a block, etc. is a liability on an individual play...often resulting in total failure. VT fans have seen plenty of this over the last few seasons - particularly from some great athletes.
What he meant was "after lining up opposite those three guys in practice every day, guarding opposing tight ends is easy."
This is not crazy. This is the way it should work. It's a criminal matter, it was left to the criminal courts. It's a sensitive, personal issue on both sides, and was rightly kept away from the media. There is absolutely no evidence of wrongdoing by Baylor or their football team. An individual committed a crime, which he was charged with, convicted of, and will be punished for. This happens literally every day. The fact that he happened to play football, in and of itself should not have any bearing at all on how its handled. The system worked. I don't know what else you could ask for.
He should see a doctor and get those lumps checked out.

# | "Virginia Tech offensive coordinator Scot Loeffler seeks more balance in his life" I'm with you. 2-8-1 in 1992, when we had a lead in like 7 of those games in the 4th quarter. It was a difficult pill to swallow. Time will tell, but for now we have what we have. Here's hoping for the best.
It was let away from ALL journalism. Denying FOIA requests, taking a scholarship away from the victim, allowing someone arrested AND indited to be a part of formal team activities is not ok.

If his offensive style is a balanced attack that tries to evenly distribute run vs pass with a get up to the line hurry up that we saw vs Ohio St last year, than completely sign me up. In fact, with the athletes we have, that's the offense we should be running, and if we have the team prepared for it, by the time a legit dual threat takes over like Lawson.... Look out
Because it provides the player a sense of security. "Hey, we're locking you in at this pay for this many years. But if you don't meet expectations, we can void this contract at any time and leave you out in the cold on your ass with no repercussions."
Is this facility typically opened on weekends? I'm only really in town for game days.

But my main part of my game is tackling, so the rover helps me enforce that.

Those numbers are obviously counting down to something...I'm not sure what it is, but I don't want to be on the opposing team when the countdown stops
You have no idea how things were handled. None of us do, because this was kept private. But the kid was still convicted and will still be punished. This wasn't glossed over or covered up, it was left to the criminal justice system and kept away from sensational journalism, as it should be. This is absolutely no reason to keep your kid from going to Baylor.
To add, the #1 team in all the land for football player arrests over the last 5 years is...drumroll.....
Washington State. (combined 16-45 over those 5 years.) Not in the spotlight means just that.
Who would have thought Wazu would have a touchdown lead over second place!!!
