I never took offense to the term "frat", though i never used it myself, nor did I ever think it was appropriate for a pledge to use it (everyone else I just shrugged it off). If I had to take a guess, the term "frat guy" is not endearing, and with it came the stigma of the word "frat".
You can believe me or not, the vast majority of greeks don't bother themselves about the "greek status" of other people. If a greek community coined a term (ex. GDI) that sounds offensive, its probably not on purpose (I'm still not convinced it is a greek community creation). And if someone actually thinks less of you because you aren't greek, they probably are part of the same general university population percentage of idiots. If you want to bash the greek system as a whole, fine. However, you're probably doing your own reputation a disservice by over-generalizing.
I don't doubt that he has the ability either, but he definitely has to "figure out" mike LB like you said. He just needs to learn to attack the ball and not wait on contact. As has been said all over this thread, he makes the tackles, but it's the yards after contact that is worrisome.
Saw Ludacris, 311 as well. Missed bob saget tho. A couple friends of mine were chilling with him at Sharkey's afterwards.

IIRC, they used Jalin Marshall as a wildcat QB a few times last year. Just a way to get more speed and talent on the field.
Within a 3 nm radius? At least we can get (almost) right up to the edge of the stadium for some long shots

There were a couple of his comments that were omitted that I saw in a video version - they asked if he wanted to eventually get back to the defensive side of the ball and he responded that, no, he has flipped his thoughts on that and actually likes offense more than defense now.
Here's to quick development and the light coming on for him later this season for more depth.

"Absolutely he has a role," Burden said. "He's developing. He's coming along. He's making plays in practice. When you have a guy doing those kind of things in practice, competing and executing to a high level, then you have no choice but to put him in the game. And that's where he is right now."

Huh, I saw that in the concert announcement, and I just assumed it was a department store. Zaxby's... But then again, Popeye used to make me think of spinach.
A buddy of mine pledged a fraternity and called it a "frat" while pledging. He got reamed out, with the justification, "you don't call your country a c*nt, so you don't call your fraternity a frat."
When it comes to country I'm much more of a George Strait/Alan Jackson fan, the "new traditional" stuff. Personally I think most new country is a genre that has lost its identity and started catering to too many tastes. When I can't tell if I'm listening to rap, rock, or country, there's a problem. That's just like....my opinion, man.
That being said, I'll probably go. It's free and what the heck else is there to do in Blacksburg on a Sunday night.
I don't think I doubt Motuapuaka's ability. I think it is comfort in the scheme. In a Jimmy Johnson 4-3, I think he would be A-OK. Bud's system is counter-intuitive for kids whose primary strength is scraping and finding the football, which is why kids who "figure it out" at the mike spot, like Vince Hall and Jack Tyler, are so spectacular in Blacksburg, but may not translate well to NFL defenses.
Of all the guys, Lydon has the most upside... however as a freshman, getting lined up and reading those keys correctly could still be challenges. Usually, R-Soph year is when guys matriculate to the into the starting role. I can't remember a freshman or a redshirt freshman starting at mike since Vince Hall started most of the year as a R-Fr back in the 2004 season. Tyler started the Orange Bowl as a R-Fr. Otherwise I am drawing a blank.
I want to say 2004, I was at that one, too.
Also saw 311, Black Eye Peas, Lil Jon, Hoobastank, and a Bob Saget standup while I was there. One of my friends also dragged me to a Rascal Flatts concert in Salem, which was more than slightly unbearable.
Why is this not a movie? It would be better than any of the Hangover movies.
